When I'm in desktop mode, recording streams, sometimes I just want to orbit around a player while staying focused on them.
I find that my mouse jumps up and down all over the place (because I'm shaky).
I was wondering if there's a way to hold ctrl+ right mouse button to restrict my movement to only horizontal. Similar to how you can click and drag a hand or head in one axis only.

Is that possible?

If not, is there a way to smooth the mouse movement while moving?

Solution
You can pan the camera by holding the middle mouse button. Hold Shift at the same time pan only horizontally, or Ctrl to pan only vertically. The same modifiers restrict rotation as well when holding the right mouse button.
