This is more of a HUB issue then client, but i gonna post it here.

So when someone uploads .var package on HUB it gets "hub-hosted" and all that...great.(y)

But if creator decides to "remove" said content from the hub or creator gets banned/blocked/whatever,
it's not fully removed from the hub (at least entry is still there somewhere).
And if some other package is referencing it (as dependency) they still get listed under dependecy tab on site
and also under dependency in client browser (at first glance it appears normal and available to download).

1) The issue is if you goto that contents link (under dependencies tab) or click download there's nothing there
only:
Oops! We ran into some problems.
You do not have permission to view this page or perform this action.

2) Similar but more annoying issue applies to client hub browser
You see content referencing some "removed" package you click download (as usual) it starts and stops with this error:
"PackageName.var does not use integer version field in name <creator>.<name>.<version>"

ok...when you close VAM and open it later on you are great with same error (like it's stuck in download que or something),
until you go inside AddonPackages and manually delete that ~30KB or non-existent package
(that also appears normal at first glance until you check size).

Why not just remove stuff completely so it shows as " Not found on Hub" for referencing/dependency part?

EDIT:This also prevents "Hub-Hosted" tag and creators might have hard time figuring out why (since removed content is still listed as hub hosted/available).
