Hello all! Looking forward to your support on this.

At the moment I have two VAM installs on my PC,
1) the install I have used since ever will all the VARs, scenes, etc. Just downloading everything in there (280 GB total VAM folder).
2) fresh VAM install testing and learning how to better manage the VARs and scenes I use.

Anyways, I was wondering why does the 1st install at launch uses 6.04GB / 7.02 GB (mem used / virtM used) with no scenes loaded, while the 2nd fresh install at launch uses 2.11GB / 3.21GB (mem used / virtM used).

Is the RAM usage at launch for the first install expected or is it possible to fix/lower?

Thanks.

Because the first one is preloading a ton more stuff than the base install, like morphs for example, etc.

Hello, yes it might be it. I'm trying to remove the VARs I do not use and I have noticed that the initial RAM usage is now lowering a bit.
Thanks

You could try going into user preferences -> performance 2 and optimizing memory. But I don't know if the stuff optimization clears is the stuff taking up space on load.
