• Happy Holidays Guest!

We want to announce that we will be working at reduced staffing for the holidays. Specifically Monday the 23rd until Jan 2nd.

This will affect approval queue times and responses to support tickets. Please adjust your plans accordingly and enjoy yourselves this holiday season!

  • Hi Guest!

Please be aware that we have released a critical security patch for VaM. We strongly recommend updating to version 1.22.0.7 using the VaM_Updater found in your installation folder.

Details about the security patch can be found here.

Hi everyone!

We are making a change to our policies regarding "Demo", "Lite" and "Free Version" resources. Many of you will already be familiar with the way we handle these types of resources, but we've also made some slight adjustments that we feel will be fair for everyone.

Policy change: Beginning today, all "Demo", "Lite" and "Free Version" resources in the "Free" category must be placed in the "Demo + Lite" subcategory.

If you do not wish your scene or work to go into the "Demo + Lite" category, then it must be a full standalone scene that does not reference a paid scene in any way, does not link to a paid scene, and does not advertise a paid scene within the scene itself when loaded in-game. Regular scenes in "Free -> Scenes" for example cannot have the title "Free Version" or "Demo" etc. We will be enforcing this strictly.

This policy applies to all sub-categories of "Free", so demo plugins must also go into "Demo + Lite". If your plugin has enough merit on its own to be a full standalone, then we suggest removing all mentions of the paid version so that you can remain in the "Free -> Plugins" category.

Policy change: Beginning today, your posts in the "Demo + Lite" category are allowed to have links to the paid version of your content.

We will be allowing you to bypass our "no advertising in free" rule for this category only. Your description must make it very clear which version the user is getting with the Free version, and exactly which features are available in the Free version. The screenshots must also be from the free version ONLY, unless they are comparison screenshots. You can talk about how awesome your "Paid" version is, as long as it's clear in the description that the user is NOT getting the Paid version when they download the Free version.

Additional details...

The current policy on "Demo / Lite" content is still ongoing -- your scene cannot contain non-working elements such as non-functioning buttons or features that are designed to "trick" or "hook" the player into getting the paid version. If your content is found to have these "hooks" then it may be unpublished by the moderation team until you remove them. ALL content in the "Free" categories, including "Demos + Lite" must be functioning content.
"Demo + Lite" resources will not appear in the VaM in-game Hub browser by default. They will only appear in the in-game browser if the user selects "All" or "Paid" from the filter menu.
If you do not wish to see "Demo + Lite" resources on the Hub, you can now hide them through your Account -> Preferences.

This is actually a little misleading and probably needs rephrasing, but -- "Demo + Lite" resources will still appear in search. This setting will hide them from the regular resource lists, categories, featured resources, what's new, hot picks, etc.

After we make this announcement, we will be going through and moving some resources. If you feel your resource didn't belong in the new "Demo + Lite" category please contact us by opening a support ticket.

Thank you everyone!
