Question Physics/Parent, Link (Character Part -> Object)

Hi,

I have been recording some animations using the animation to video recorder plugin, I like to link the object which records the video to maybe the head movements, using the physics /parent link.

for whatever reason I can not figure out how to control how strong the copy of the physics is on this empty object,(Tested with many different types of objects)

Basically, the camera hooks to the object for the mod I use to record the videos,
the physics settings hold position, hold rotation etc make no difference to the movement of the head or neck of the character, the animation result is too shaky,

does anyone know the correct way to hook the physics of a head to say an empty? I would like the empty to be able to adjust its movement from the physics link.
