• Hi Guest!

Please be aware that we have released another critical security patch for VaM. We strongly recommend updating to version 1.22.0.12 using the VaM_Updater found in your installation folder.

Details about the security patch can be found here.

Hi Everyone!

We have a small quality-of-life announcement regarding the Hub's resource categories. Due to some recent house cleaning we were performing in the "Other" category, the staff decided it was time to add some additional categories to help showcase some of your fantastically creative work!

The following sub-categories have been added to Free, Early-Access, and Paid:

Mocap + Animation

This is a place to put your scenes and subscenes that are purely animation or mocap based. This would include any neutral animation not set in a specific context or story and/or meant to be used and imported by other creators. Some examples would be dance scenes, timeline animations, MMD ports, idle animations, partial animations, animation experiments, and so-on.
For example, a scene titled "Dance animation using timeline plugin" would likely go in Mocap + Animation, while a scene titled "Strip Club Lap Dance & BJ" may simply go in "Scenes".

Lighting + HDRI

This category is for all of your scene and environment lighting creations. This includes light rigs and subscenes, lighting presets, LUTs, High Definition Rendered Images (HDRI & skyboxes) used for global environments, reShade presets, and anything that goes into scene lighting or taking a good screenshot.

Audio

This category is for music, voice, sound effects and other audio assets and resources. With the widespread adoption of AI tools use to create various sound-related content, we thought it was time to encourage more audio content from our community. This category is *not* for audio-related plugins, tools, or scenes which would go in a different category. A resource titled "100 hours of contemporary music subscene" might go in "Audio", whereas a resource titled "CUA speakers and Audio UI player" would go somewhere else.

Toolkits + Templates

This category is for
  • non-VaM resources such as Unity or Blender utilities, files and templates
or
  • VaM scenes and subscenes that serve a specific function or purpose but are not plugins.
Toolkits + Templates covers anything from blender template files, to texture seam guides, to subscenes built as a "plug and play" setup to help creators build their own scenes. Some Toolkits + Templates resource may be creative compilations of other plugins, such as MacGruber's Logic Bricks, set up to perform a complicated task. For those who love thinking outside-the-box, or those who don't quite have the skills to create their own plugins, this category is a great place to show off your experiments and your own personalized VaM creator tools.

Comics and Storytelling

This category is for creative stories and comics outside of VaM. Examples include storyboard-style image galleries, 2D comics (PDFs), and video-based stories.
Notes:
  • Story-based scenes that are loaded in VaM — those belong in "Scenes".
  • No video hosting—except for trailers. Embed off-site videos for your full-length video stories instead.
  • No executables or standalone apps. Story-based content for 3rd-party software may be allowed, but advertising games/software is not.

Additionally, we've made a slight adjustment to the "Plugins" category by adding "Scripts" to the title, and to the "Assets" category by adding "Accessories":

Plugins + Scripts

Previously, the "Plugins" category covered only plugins that could be loaded in-game. We have added "Scripts" to allow a place for the great influx of scripts, apps, and code-based tools that have started appearing on the Hub ever since the AI boom began. We must stress that any additions to the plugins category may be required to go through a screening process due to security concerns, and may be required to have a label warning users about the danger of 3rd party scripts.

Assets + Accessories

Previously, the Assets category specifically referred to "Custom Unity Assets" for the Custom Unity Asset atom in-game. We have added "accessories" to the title to cover some creative uses of other systems to add items and accessories to the game, such as clothing-based hats and hair accessories for example. This category will now give a home to assets (CUAs), items or accessories that are separate from, or an accessory for, the scene and characters.
