So I am not sure if this has been asked... but I, maybe incorrectly, assume the vast number of users are cis gendered males. I can't imagine a large community of females here... which makes me wonder, are guys having virtual sex with other guys that they think are women?
A fair and somewhat complicated question,
I am acutely aware that most players on MetaChat are *statistically* male players. This is supported by why there's a clear skew towards female looks, hairs, clothing on the hub. This is why I choose to treat MetaChat as what it is, a game. That's why it's important to separate fantasy from reality. If one plays Call of Duty, does that make them a
real solider or that of the other players in real life? A Super Hero? A Male? A Female? A specific race, real or fantasy? Nope!
What's important is that you enjoy what you're experiencing in front of you. We all know it's fake, make belief, it's virtual, it's in the name after all. Immersion is what allows something like VR to allow you, as the player to be invested in the presentation. MetaChat, really at the end of the day, is just motion-captured puppeteering. If you're concerned with creating a real connection with a player of a gender that you do not prefer. Then Hub has plenty of scenes with baked in motion captured performances, some claiming to be from real females, but do
YOU TRULY know that?. Some of the best animated scenes I've seen were created by people who have not revealed their real genders, and it shouldn't matter.
Remember, MetaChat is JUST a plugin for VAM, so you have WAY more control over what you see than something like VR Chat.
- You can apply any appearance you prefer like onto another person, though it is not recommended purely for collision desync.
- You can simply spectate two players going at it, if the genders represented is something you like, you're basically watching live-action-porn.
- If you are, say male and playing a female character that are having sex. A simple looking at the reflection of a mirror, suddenly disassociates the action to...once again voyeurisms.
- Or you can take any concerns of personal orientation out of the equation, and just have two male players who are simply posing/animating characters from third person. At this point you're just...."building" porn that hopefully both enjoy. Some people like to self insert themselves into their respective gender, some don't care, and just want to watch something spicy.
No one is asking you to become gender fluid, or switch from straight to bi or gay. You craft what you want, and it *for the most part* won't affect another player. The genders of the actual player themselves is irrelevant because you are not interacting with their physical body, genitals, etc. However, sexual PREFERENCE is still important, so it's always a good idea to engage with what you like. A Male could play a Female, a Female could play a male, either could play a Futa to facilitate penetration.
Having said that, there are a number of players who have self identified themselves on our discord as male, female, gay, straight, bi, etc through voluntarily submitted "profiles" on the MC discord.
https://discord.com/invite/D6nfVVtjGz and plenty others who decide to remain anonymous. I can confirm there is one at least one male/female couple that met on another game, and play on MetaChat, but they do enjoy playing with others.
If you want to go through the task of confirming or vetting the biological genders of every person you interact with, that's your prerogative or you could play MetaChat privately with someone who's biological gender is that matches your preference.
