The more I read your updates, the more impressive this seems and I also appreciate that you've worked with the developers of this app to make this potentially and must inclusion in vam. I only see two barriers to this taking off. One is that since you have to sign up with an e-mail and birthday, people will probably hesitate because most are pretty private about their usage of this program though most of us are smart enough to have dummy emails and use fake birthdays. Beyond that a second challenge is that mostly the demographics of this app skew towards straight males as the polls recently showed so it's unlikely that people who are using this app are going to want to use its best interactive features together. Still it could revolutionize sex work and it definitely has potential to use the other capabilities vam has for true metaverse like activities far beyond what Facebook and other companies are offering.

Thank you for the opinion! I totally agree with you.
The email is required with confirmation because I try to prevent people from offending others and being banned and then re-creating a new account. Hope to find other ways to prevent spamming.
The birthday is just for 18+ age verification by users to avoid law violation. I always enter wrong birthday with my real year when registering sites :)

Yeah, I think the gender disparity will be a problem of MetaChat's community. But I think we should consider the gender ratio to be closer to the ratio in VRChat in the long term. VaM users now are mostly straight males because it was just a porn game. With MetaChat, it's multiplayer game. Regardless, male is the majority of VRChat though haha.
 
My two cents, on the surface I agree with the limited use cases today, but when you think outside the box there is actually quite a few use cases here.

- Creators sharing scenes, scheduling and hosting a preview and taking feedback for revisions (i.e. watching a mocap play out, think of it like live director commentary on a dvd with Q and A)

- Play poker or something of the sort with buddies in a holodeck type setting that can cycle through various scenes - be it strip club or club scenes or something more vanilla. We already have the ability to easily add web or desktop panels to scenes

-As the game evolves in locomotion options, female mocap creators ultimately could host private room sessions (live vs recorded mocap potentially?)

just some thoughts - appreciate the hardwork that has been put into this so far. This is very cool and I look forward to watching it develop more.

EXACTLY. I'm glad others are seeing this. Here's what I posted in the VaM Discord: " I am not intending to use the multiplayer functions for sex necessarily. The applications go far beyond this -- imagine creating a scene live with a co-conspirator. Imagine dropping into a scene designed with 3-4 player DnD in mind. Some of it is a bit silly to do in VaM as opposed another game. I think dismissing it as just a place for us to slam our avatars together is a bit short-sighted, right? I'm currently preparing a couple demos of the possible applications.

I really don't think I'll be making any scenes for single-player after this.
 
Hi, I can't create an account because it only accepts hotmail.com and not the internationalised version of hotmail.co.(whatever).
Can this please be fixed so I can create an account without having to make up a fake email just to use it?
 
Any chance of changing the email rules so I can try it? Pretty please?
 
This reminds of that one Black Mirror episode. I can't see this taking off anywhere than a gay community. Then again, back to the Black Mirror episode, they weren't really gay, but come on I can't see many girls using this.

Hmm, so your rationale is that this is way too complicated for girls to use and they don't usually play Vam anyhow, or?

Also, I'm interested on the Black Mirror episode you are referring to, can you pls let us know the episode in question :D

Please join MetaChat Discord if you interested to meet again with players you meet in MetaChat as MC does not have friends system unfortunately yet.

Would be cool if future versions of MC would also support Addonpackages subfolders (not just root folder) for people atoms/looks vars.

Any way to show a notification when someone joins a room? ,or exits? , Or any way to change the name of the character shown in the scene to player names?

I really like that you're attentive to the idea that it's only just a porn game right now, but has more potential. I'm interested in how MetaChat could be used for users to co-build scenes and sort of create storyboards or analogous environments using CUAs and other atoms in VAM. Would MetaChat work for this use case? I'm still not sure what it does exactly despite the video explanations besides add an ability for two parties to control atoms. I think there's some voice and text support, but it's not clear? Is it possible you can upload a video at some point of two people using MetaChat instead of your individual demo so we can see what users are able to do with it? Really appreciate your work on this.
 
Is this no longer working for anyone else? just had a friend create an account yesterday and she couldn't get it working either, the scenes go to a black screen or the menu pops up then vanishes, or if we finally got it to load manually, then the scene wasn't syncronized... this actually used to work fine a few patches ago so I'm guessing it was new updates, but I don't know if other people are experiencing it too?
 
Oh wow just got it to work using the default scene, Maybe it was the "Good Morning" scene by Jyy that was no longer working with updates... I want to test more and see.
 
Hi, there seems to have been a mistake in adding the geographical hotmails...
hotmail.co. was added, rather than hotmail.co.COUNTRYCODE for all the places that are not USA....
I am not going to list them all, but pretty much any 2 letters afer the .co. should be valid.
