It would be cool if Meshed VR once a year had an award event, where maybe 30 more categories, could have a gold, silver and bronze award and have a few sentences on why that creator was selected for that particular award. Maybe a few special mentions, as there is so much great stuff. Of course, some kind of incentive would be nice be it monetary or the winners get some sort of advanced knowledge or early access to a few updates or something. I know there are a lot of really smart people are doing some amazing things and not even bothering to share their knowledge, at least not on the hub. I believe the devs have reached out to a few creators under specific circumstances. I know someone did come up with an awards type of post before and I thought was very good. It really gets me looking at other creators that I may have missed otherwise. Sometimes I see resourses with thousands of downloads and not a single review. IDK, just a thought.

I like the idea, but have to address the last part of your post. The thousands of downloads and not a single review part. That is purely user dependent. I don't think anything the devs will do can affect that. People just don't care enough to leave a review/rating. Some do , but most don't. It is unfortunate but that's how it is. I too wish it weren't so , as it helps understand what people want , and especially for creators who tap into niche content. You see many more reviews for assets that are more in line with "mainstream" standards such as looks with certain body types etc, and people are more inclined to be offensive than they are constructive. That's just my take.
Thanks for the comment and I agree with you. The reason I mentioned the thousands of downloads and no reviews is because, I do not get good feed back. And I have some very good resources that I have downloaded that are excellent, with only a small amount of downloads, and I mean about 30 downloads. With Dev Awards, I would be getting some good feed back from the people that understand VAM the best, and with their insight as to why they selected and awarded a creator the way they did. To me that would be interesting and helpful, and give some unsung creators some spotlight. For example, one category could be creators that are pushing the envelope in VAM, new ideas, new capabilities, etc. I know a few, and I would bet there are quite a few more, that I am not aware of. Even a category for tutorials would be helpful. I really do not think the Devs will create awards, but like I said, it would be cool if they did.

But yeah, that's just based on the opinion of one random VaM user, there is no jury, etc. The problem with these kinds of things is that if you want them done properly and fairly, its a huge amount of effort. I doubt anyone has the time to look at ALL the content made in a year.

Thanks for your comment, I liked that post very much, and I agree the amount of incredible stuff is amazing. And of course a big chunk I don't try or maybe even see if I do not support. I just saw this one recently https://hub.virtamate.com/resources/experimental-cloth-skin.35638/ which is damn innovating and clever to me. I sometimes feel like I missing out on some really good ones. And I bet a lot of incredible stuff does not even get shared on the hub. One possible solution is the creator has to opt in and submit no more than 3 resources to be considered. Of course, there could still be some great stuff that would not even be considered for the award though. I know it will not happen, but I do enjoy posts of that sort, like the VAMMYs, and would like to think the devs have the most insight onto what really is innovating, and things they had not even considered, a clever specific out of the box approach or thought was too difficult.Well, there are the VAMMYs!

I think someday this community will likely grow large enough where there will be a kind of VAM News that profiles exciting new stuff. When I made my awards post, it was largely tongue in cheek since the US Grammy music awards were happening around the same time, but it was fun making the post because I really wanted to show love to the creativity I see on here. While it's not an adequate proxy, one tactic for finding the good stuff is to use the Trending Resources and Hot Picks features, which I believe are generated algorithmically. The only downside is this relies on people having stumbled on and been interested in the content in the first place. I will say that I worry making things competitive might discourage some creators even as it encourages others, especially when it comes to looks and scenes. There is also the matter of people's personal tastes influencing their choices, but an easy way to sidestep that problem is to declare those tastes up front so the reader knows what subjective influences guided their choices.
I've been pondering doing a follow up to that post when I have some time because I think new users especially need a few shortcuts otherwise they'll have hundreds of gigabytes of their computers used up (like I do) trying to find some of VAM at its best and most interesting. One thing I'll say to creators is that the reason your stuff often gets put out to silence is likely not because people are leeches or even lazy, but just as likely because people have their qualms about leaving any digital trace of themselves on a porn site of any kind, to say nothing of a site that is a hub for real people and copyrighted characters' likenesses. This is a longstanding issue with adult content. Even though I believe VAM is one of the most powerful art creation tools to ever exist, I'd wager a majority just like easy custom jerk off material and don't want to talk about it. So don't be discouraged! If you are taking the time to make something, you're likely more loved than you'll ever know.

I agree with you, and I do check out those links on occasion, as well select all and just go through everything, and also search through creators, and tags. Its overwhelming, all the interesting stuff. I think also, some people would rather join discord or some other site to converse, or just do not bother. I admit a few posts I have made were taken the wrong way, then got some jabs back. If someone is putting out anything for free, I am not complaining. My thought is not to be constructive in the actual review, just say good things. That being said I have a monthly bill, for patreon support. I doubt anyone is bothered about their likeness on the hub. There is no big money being made, and very few people have even heard about it and it is a very very small part of VAM. 90% of the look a likes I have seen, I have not a clue as to who they are, even with the weird spelling. I really want to make something myself, and started one, but got burned out. It is a lot of work. I have another idea I am kicking around, I might give it another shot. I also noticed asking for things in the requests forum, usually comes back as too much work, or do it yourself, anyway. I am more of a tinkerer, and not a creator, I do not have the time or skillset. But I really do appreciate the smart people that put in the hard work!
