I noticed in the topmost Main Menu, sometimes the background is a hazy orange sunset, and sometimes its a nice blue background.
Is there any way to always set it to the blue one?
The orange one blows out my eyes late at night :)

I've never noticed that...

Quickly peeking at the code, the sky (background) that is shown in the main menu (aka top menu) is this

Code:
Sky overlaySky = SkyshopLightController.singleton.overlaySky;

you could try editing its properties via script 🤔

I've never noticed that...

That's probably because it's not the case lol
I reacted the same way as you and fired up VAM, hard reseted 20 times in a row, I haven't seen a single blue thingy.

@VRmatt can you screenshot when you got that "blue" version?
Worst case scenario, use the auto-skip menu option in Misc, and create a default scene that would please your eyes ^^

I think it's the same background but the filter effect only gets applied after the session plugins have initialized and the UI becomes responsive. For example, BrowserAssist has a noticeable initialization time if there are a lot of .var files.

use the auto-skip menu option in Misc, and create a default scene that would please your eyes
Thanks for this tip (y) In my opinion the top menu has nothing useful to offer, anyway.

It's not THAT blue lol.

The first shot, I see a glimse of it before settling, but I'm always ending on the second shot you've shown. That blue stuff is a mystery to me haha.

Maybe your system/monitor settings has a filter set for certain times? Like the night light filter in windows. I mean ... afaik, it should filter out the blue light, not the other way around. But maybe ... is it another app that does this?
But then everything should turn blue ... well, I am just here for a bit of brainstorming.

Yeah I dunno, it looks bluish sometimes :)
So what's the trick to get it to the darker filter, faster? Like I said, the bright setting is giving me a sun burn.

There is no trick here. Use the default scene option : )

And the fun thing is, you can do the scene yourself, so you could load on the perfect setup you'd want (I'd recommend having a light scene tho). Simply save a "default.json" scene at the root of the scene folder.
