Hello, community. I'm the author of CLS Remake - a remake of another plugin CLS with license type CC BY-NC, which I inherited. I'd like to change the license to CC BY-SA so people can use it in paid content, but the original plugin author does not respond me for over a month (considering this he's likely left the community entirely). What options do I have?
Is there a way to change the license type of my plugin without the original's author permission?
Or is it still possible to use my plugin in paid content? According to the message, making a paid content with a link to my plugin doesn't automatically lead to sanctions, only if the original NC content creator fill a report. Is there any way to guarantee the author of paid content that they won't be immediately banned if the original's author suddenly shows up and files a complaint? Can this message be considered my written permission to use my plugin in paid content?

I'm sorry to say on the license front you can't change another creators license for your derivative works, only your own.

As far as I know the hub will flag the NC used in paid content during var verification and make the author confirm they have explicit permission to use the NC in a paid resource if its a direct dependency. I imagine mods will take a very dim view of creators that claim they have permission but are then proven otherwise.

Looks like the original author wanted the license to be NC. We respect authors' licenses on the Hub indefinitely.

You may not change the license without their permission, regardless of whether they have left the community.

Additionally, this should have been posted as a support ticket, not a community thread. The community cannot answer this question for you, only the moderation team.
