In desperate need of help.

For some reason Vam started having isssues. it first started with the allow plugin msgs coming up every time i opened a scene even when i have used that scene before and gave permission.

now the game doesnt even recognize my addons and i have to rescan the packages after every restart.

i did clean my addonfolder after the firstly mentioned issue came up and the other one started right after.

(I backedup every .var file i belived i was actually using and then deleted every addon. after i put the saved ones back in and scanned for referance packages.)
i feel like this has done more harms than good now

  • Where's your VAM folder located (disk path)?
    • VAM needs full write permissions on the folder
  • When did it start to show problems?
    • If it was recent then might be just be:
      • a corrupted VAR
      • a VAR that has chinese names inside, you don't have a language pack to read them properly, and breaks the scan process
  • Did you try a core check in vam_updater.exe?

You have deleted the content only, but settings and various metadata remain: the AddonPackagesUserPrefs, AddonPackagesFilePrefs, and Cache folders. VaM is going to ask you for all permissions all over again.

vam is in V"C:\Virt a mate"

This looks like an error with a VAR or more using characters the system doesn't understand, like mentioned with the chinese characters.
