I am wanting to replace the appearance preset of a model in any given scene, but I want the clothing to remain the same. So if original scene character is wearing a dress, I want to replace that character (appearance) with a new one but keep the same dress. I would appreciate any help. Thank you!

I believe I found the answer for anyone who has the same question.

  1. Load up the first scene. Select the Person.
  2. Go to the Clothing Presets tab and check "Lock Controller Param Values". This keeps the clothes from the scene.
  3. Go to the Appearance Presets tab and load the appearance that you saved. Do NOT lock this.
  4. Go to the Clothing Presets tab and uncheck "Lock Controller Param Values". This allows clothes to change again.

1st you would save a "look" as an appearance preset from an existing scene or download it from the hub ect ect.

2nd:
Go to "Control & Physics 1" and click on "Preset Lock Overview" and normally you would want to check these options:
  1. Pose Presets
  2. AnimationPresets
  3. PluginPresets
  4. Clothing Presets

Next you would go to "Appearance Presets" and make check the "Lock Controlled Param Values":

Next you click on the "Select Existing" and from there you just choose your saved presets that you saved (either from a scene or download.. ect ect ect)

Or you can go into the character's clothing tab select lock clothing switch the appearance to one you want and then unlock the clothing. There's a plugin you can also use but I can't remember its name.
