Hey all, VaM beginner here. I'm trying to use the Eossin VRRenderer plugin to render the CyberDreams scene below as a stereoscopic 180 first person VR video (with the perspective set to the one male model in the scene):

Scenes - CyberDreams - Reviews

hub.virtamate.com
hub.virtamate.com

The scene has custom UX built into it that allows me to select the models to be used, and the perspective that should be used when the scene is played (the possible selections are VR first person or third person). If I use the custom UX to select the options I want - and then click the "initialize" button in the custom UX the scene starts to play with the models and perspective I have selected (and the custom UX disappears) - but the 180 VR video produced is from a third person perspective (not VR first person).

It sounds like maybe the empty atom with the VRRenderer attached needs to be moved so it is positioned such that it renders the scene from the perspective of the male actor before scene starts - but the custom UX makes it difficult to figure out where to move the camera since the custom UX hides the "action" until the scene starts.

I tried starting the scene, and then switching to edit mode immediately (in the hope that, now that I could see the models "in action", that I could move the position of the camera so that it is rendering the video from the VR first person view that I want). That doesn't seem to work though as switching to edit mode immediately stops playback, and also makes the custom scene UX shows back up again immediately (with all scene options reset).

I considered maybe seeing if I could modify the scene defaults so that the models I want (and VR first person view) are already selected by default - and maybe that would get me closer to my desired final outcome, but my guess is I'm just doing something wrong.

Any ideas / tips? Thanks!

If you use the AlignHelper plugin on the Empty for the VRRenderer it should make things a lot easier. Just set the "Target Atom" to "[CameraRig]" and "Target Receiver" to "CenterEye" and enable "Lock". With these settings your Empty should follow the scene whether it's the third person or first person POV. If necessary, you can adjust the Position Offset settings so that the VRRenderer preview matches with the actual camera more closely.
