i'm not sure where else i can ask this question, but when a person grows, their hair gets all messed up. Turning off hair physics seems to solve the issue, but i'd love to know a solution that lets them keep their hair physics as they grow.
I haven't ran into that before but it may just be the colliders shifting. I think the bigger/smaller you scale the person atom the more the colliders get offset. You can use acidbubbles Collider Editor to fix that also. also you can alter most hair physics collider perimeters.
Animating scale changes causes a physics reset that can make the clothing or hair "jump".
I found that problem in my Skyrim scene, where the hair would actually jump to the origin point, even though I wasn't changing anything in that animation. It was because I had the person's scale set as a target in timeline. Sometimes a timeline track can look like it is set to 1, but actually be bouncing between 0.99999 and 1.00001.
I think I got around that issue by removing scale as a direct target in timeline and using a transition "trigger track" instead for the part I needed the scale animating. You may always get it when animating scale though.
when i load a scene that has growth in it, the original model of the scene has perfect hair physics even when they grow, but when i load an appearance preset, the physics behave exactly as they do in the video above. clothing and hair physics break on any new appearance preset in the scene. but as soon as the growth is over, their hair returns to normal. where would i even look to fix this? does it depend if the animation is in AtomPlugin or in Scene Animation?

Is the scene using timeline? It maybe fixable by converting the scale target animation to a trigger track transition and then removing "scale" as a target. (not tested though.)

if you'd like a free example, you can look at "KM450 Giantess growth injection", it has the same issue with hair (and clothing) physics for any new appearance presets.
the reddit link below perfectly describes the issue i'm having:
