bqbq submitted a new resource:

embody lite - embody, embody lite, Acid Bubbles,

All credit goes to the great Acid Bubbles.

built it because the original Embody doesn’t let you hide/unhide the tongue via external triggers.
I also wanted to slim it down to just the features needed for scene viewing.
and reduce the original Embody’s CPU bottlenecks.

This plugin is a streamlined version of the original 'Embody' by Acid Bubbles, with many of its features pared back.
built on top of Passenger.cs, and I cherry-picked the parts I needed from the original Embody Cs with a few...

bqbq updated embody lite with a new update entry:

Added a Match Character mode

Flow is a possession mode designed for VR that minimizes the sense of mismatch with reality when the ground is level.
Match Character is a simpler mode that only follows the character’s head tilt.

Example in actual use

As you can see in the video, there’s really no need for a detailed explanation of the intended use…

The key point is that, just like Passenger...

What are the chances of adding the follow eye target control function? I've been saying for awhile now that Embody is great but for whatever reason it would lag quite a bit when active, I'm so glad you made this lite version - the only thing that's missing for me is the eye target tracking since I use it in a lot of my scenes. If you could add that then it would be perfect!

If you’re referring to eye tracking, I don’t have the equipment for that, so it wouldn’t be possible…

I mean this option in regular Embody.

Hi bqbq, this is a great addition to the hub and I am sure will get plenty of use!
I have only two things to ask, firstly, this is probably user error as I remember it took me a while to figure out in the original embody, but how do I turn tilt on? I can unlock everything else and manually tilt but for some reason I can not do it via controls.
Secondly I think it's great that you chose to publish it CC BY-SA, however that means no paid scene will ever be able to use it, would you consider changing to CC BY?

CC BY-SA still allows the plugin to be used in a commercial capacity, you can still use it in premium scenes.

I originally started investing time into plugins for the sake of scene creation.

So this is more of a personal curiosity question.

‘Look at eyes target’ is an option that, when you possess, adjusts the head’s forward direction to face the eye target control instead of the character’s actual forward direction. You can fine- tune the correction distance with a value slider.

It’s basically an option you could skip just by rotating the character’s head before possession, so I’m wondering if there’s some concrete benefit I’m not aware of.
This is pure curiosity on my part.

Even though it adds the extra hassle of having to adjust the eye target control separately, Acid Bubbles still chose to include this feature.
It makes me think there’s some advantage I don’t know about, so I wanted to ask

CC BY-SA licensing means you’re free to modify and share the plugin however you like.
The only requirements are that you credit the original author and keep any derivative work under the same CC BY-SA license.

So if you customize Embody Lite and share your own version, just credit Acid Bubbles as the original author and keep the license type as CC BY-SA.

As for commercial use, as the other person mentioned, you can simply use it in paid scenes.

Hmm… this is exactly the same question I asked a few months ago.
And just like you, I got an answer from someone back then. Haha.

And I’m not quite sure what you mean by tilt in that situation.
When you possess using Match Character mode, the character’s head tilt is already applied.
If you want to adjust the tilt manually, you need to enable rotation lock and use the rotation sliders to fine-tune it.

Oh that's great I am fairly new so I understood from what I had read that all work using that license had to use the same, sorry about that.
As for the tilt function, is there something I am missing also?

If what you mean is simply that the character’s head is tilted and you want that tilt to be applied when you possess, then just use the Match Character mode for possession.

No for the tilt to be controlled by controls, so I just did some testing and it looks like it does work on desktop mode but not in vr, in vr when the rotation lock box is unchecked you can only rotate side to side, when it is checked you can not move the camera at all, on desktop when unchecked it all works and when checked you can only tilt so there seems to be something blocking all tilt in vr only, at least for me, again it could be user error :p

For me the use case is parenting the eye target to another person's limb control, for example the woman's hip. Then the camera automatically follows the target, it makes for easier precise camera control without having to manually animate the possessed person's head which can take a LONG time. Having this as an option with your Lite version of embody would skip a large chunk of animating and also save on some performance.

possess using Match Character mode, the tilt is applied correctly even in VR.
You can see it in the second video in the update post.
I just tested it again a moment ago, and it worked normally.
The cause is probably somewhere else.

I tested the Look At Eye Target mode.
It behaves similarly to the original Embody, but when you possess in Floor mode, the horizon ends up tilted. I also occasionally see discrepancies in VR, and this happens because there are structural differences beyond just the reference coordinate system compared to the original Embody.

In Embody Lite, it’s closer to mixing in eyeTarget Look Rotation, which is what leads to these errors. Fixing this would require changing the underlying structure—in practice, that means the code would have to be rewritten.

If I were going to add that feature, I would have needed to plan for it from the start.
And I’m not going to rebuild everything again from scratch.
I already have scenes waiting to be made, and I’ve spent seven days on Embody Lite alone

That's a damn shame but understandable, Embody Lite was almost exactly what I needed to be able to make more intense music scenes. If I end up using it in the future I will just have to figure a different way to achieve the Look At Eye Target effect.

I can pitch using my head too but what I mean is the ability to pitch using the vr controller, after further testing it seems that pitch has been linked to elevation on your plugin, if I also uncheck the lock position box, the same controls I use in embody for pitch adjustment now adjusts elevation, which is quite useful to be honest, but I use more pitch adjustments than I do elevation.

bqbq updated embody lite with a new update entry:

update

1. Original Embody’s coordinate-locking and camera-handling restored
View attachment 541965
Just like the previous “budget Embody” versions I made, all UI options can still be controlled through external triggers.

2. CPU bottleneck reduction is the same as the earlier version
View attachment 541966
For natural possession, coordinate holding is updated every frame, just like the original Embody.

But things like scanning updates have all been...

Rebuilt again.
This time I did the rebuild based on the original Embody C# scripts.
Thanks to analyzing the structure beforehand during my first attempt, I was able to finish it much faster than expected.

You know what I mean, right?

If this update gets approved, give it a try. I still don’t know how to exclude roll using VR controls, so I can’t give a clear explanation. But since this update was rebuilt based on the original Embody, it might already be resolved.

This plugin seems to include the exact parts of Embody that I like to use for my scenes, but I’m running into a few issues on my end. After adding it to my scene, it appears to have some odd interactions with the VAMStory FOV controller. It works for the first couple of activations through the VAMStory UI, but then it becomes unresponsive. It also seems to change my perspective in the main VAM UI unexpectedly.

If you’d like more info, feel free to reach out—I can share additional details when I have some free time 🤞 .

I found that issue as well — in fact, it was the main reason I rebuilt it again.
It’s already been fixed and uploaded; the resource just hasn’t been approved yet.

If you DM one of the mods about how long it's been they will likely sort it out for you, I've had to do it in the past.
