Can I re-load original hair?

I'm working on a kind of showcase scene where I can swap appearance presets and then swap hair, clothes, etc. Is it possible to go through my hair presets (using buttons I've preassigned), and then somehow go back to the original hair that the appearance had? Or do I just have to save it as it's own hair preset prior to swapping it? Hope all that makes sense. Thanks!

Simplest option is to have a preset that you can load at any point in time.
