Hello,

I'd like to start with a fresh install. Now I do have the following folders backed up:

-Vam\Keys
-Vam\Custom
-Vam\Saves

I've also back up some Vars and others, but what's crucial to me is that I do not lose the data for the looks, and the presets of all kind.

Am I covered here, or should I back up other folder(s)?

I expect most disk space taken comes from the VARs you have, not the remainder folders unless you have unpacked stuff in /Custom/. In that sense backing up the other folders would make little difference in backup size.
If you're removing many VARs, the presets you have may reference those VARs and will not work properly.

If you have the disk space, I would make a new folder and put the new install in there. Then find what you need on a case-by-case basis from your old install

GrepWin can help you find or verify which VARs and other files that are used in your scenes. It can be a very tedious task depending on how you use it. My VAm folder went from 124 GB to 77GB.

Thanks all, but also apologies, I should've been more specific. Space is not an issue here. I took a break from Vam (and much else) for a while, and I have some relearning to do, and all the options for all the pieces that I have installed makes it quite overwhelming, so I thought I'd start again, and refresh my memory and get back up to speed.

@Toddy What's "Grepwin", I looked for it here, but couldn't find it?

If space is not a issue copying the entire VaM folder will garantee all is in the backup.
