I stumbled across this youtube video of amazing clothing physics!
There's a second, newer one:
I can see no clipping at all. If this could be part of VaM 2.0, this would be a game changer! I don't know how clothings physics are figured out in the future VaM but right now it regularly breaks the immersion obviously. I'm no coder so I don't know if it is even possible to combine this with VaM. From what I've read it's built in Unity.
