Hello lovely people! This scene started out as a small experiment to see if I could make a rig for easy posing of characters, but it soon got out of hand. I ended up making a whole scene. It was a huge learning experience because I had never made a scene this involved before. Now I want to share it to you all because I think maybe some of you might find it useful. But also I hope you play it first!

This contains only the environment. All of my stuff is free to use for any purpose (just credit me) so you can use this if you want to make your own scene. The assets are specifically set up for night time lighting. Sorry it won’t look good if you’re trying to do a day scene! And it is actually a vignette, like a little slice of a scene. I made all of the assets in this scene, including the street sound fx. It sounds like cars passing and a night club playing music not too far away. I recorded the sounds on the street myself!

After you complete the Start scene, it will automatically take you to Chapter 1. This is the main content. It is a single scene with many atoms so it takes up to 3 minutes to load. Please be patient! But the long load time is worth it because after that, every “page” takes no more than 3 seconds to load. Additionally, if you want to experiment with this scene I have made it easier for you to do that. I’ll explain this in more detail later on this page.

Ok, so for Start, and Chapter 1 you need all the VAR files.

But! You will also need to copy some files by hand. I have put them in a few folders to make it easy for you. I will also list every file that is being copied so you can track them and remove them if need be.

These are all the folders that get copied. Remove these if you ever want to “uninstall”.

Before you all give me a hard time for not using a VAR, let me explain. The “Chapter 1” scene is not a typical scene because it is designed to let you save poses by the tap of a button. Don’t worry, this will all make more sense later. Just know that I made the scene in order for players to customize it easier. And because of that, it could not be a VAR because VAR stores stuff differently.

Pose Pallet
The female pose pallet is different from the male.
The female was set up with a forward kinematic rig. This means you will need to rotate the joints to make the pose. This is by design because if you pose this way, it will look more natural. You cannot grab the hand and move it to pose.

What the proxy objects are for - Have you ever rotated a joint in VR and things got really weird? Like you couldn’t find the joint because it was somewhere lost in space? Proxy objects to the rescue! Just toggle them on and now you can see exactly where those joints are and how they are rotated. You don’t need them on in order to pose. The proxy are driven by the actual person joints, they are visual only.

The female rig uses a special setup for idle animations. There are 4 atoms that animate with Timeline plugin. The head, arms, and pelvis are linked to these animated atoms. This makes it possible to pose your character any way you want and still have the idle animations working! No longer do you need to animate with every new pose.

If you want to edit the idle animations, do that as normal but don’t animate the actual joints of head and arms etc. Instead animate the empty atoms with the already applied timeline plugin. Note: this idle animation setup is not designed for unique keyed animations, its only intended for idle animations!

Position is turned off for most joints so that the idle animation looks natural and not stiff. But you can turn the position on for feet because otherwise it might look strange!

That's pretty much it for the female. Experiment with it to get a better understanding of how it all works. But I encourage you to pose in VR, the rig was made for that purpose.

Oh! One last important note - Make sure to pose in PLAY mode so you don’t grab something you shouldn’t by accident!

Note: I don’t recommend using 2 female pose pallet rigs in one scene. Doing so might be too heavy on performance and you might experience pause glitches. VaM seems to not like how I set up the idle animations, that’s why it only has 4 atoms. Any more and things seemed to slow down. If you insist on using two female pose pallets then you must rename all the atoms so they don’t cancel eachother out. So maybe for the other female pose pallet you can start the atom names with *f2_* name convention. Do this before merge loading them together.


The male rig is similar to the female except it is based on inverse kinematics. That means you grab the hands and feet to pose him. Also there is no idle animation setup for the male. But if you want the female feature set, you should be able to load the male appearance onto the female rig. Note: you’ll lose the penis stuff though and will need to setup your own or make a scene with only the penis stuff and merge load that in. It won’t work however until you have re-assigned the references in the atoms.

There is a proxy setup to change penis direction. I did this because it can be really frustrating to try to rotate the penis by grabbing the actual penis. So instead I’ve turned those joints off to prevent accidental grabbing. Instead you should rotate penis with the proxy objects. Of course if you’re familiar with VaM you can customize it however you like.



The Chapter 1 Scene
This scene is designed to edit and save basic functionality on the fly in VR while you are playing! I often like to change things up as I play VaM. Sometimes I want to modify a pose to make it a bit different. Or simply change small things like maybe I want the male to rub breast instead of ass. With this setup, I think it is easier to do these things. And easy to save the changes as I will explain.

General Scene Triggers
When a “page” is loaded, it will trigger the corresponding page letter. For example, when you click the [>] next page button, that triggers “Main a”. And then Main a will trigger many other events. Some triggers may go 3 to 4 triggers deep. Triggers that trigger triggers.

* Mildly interesting - I have attached triggers to UI Text Boxes instead of Empty Atoms. I didn’t use empty atoms because (at least on my computer) they caused frame rate to lower more than text boxes. Yeah weird I know! Anyway it all worked out because now its easy to label the triggers.

Beginner Tip - How to examine a trigger
Select the trigger and then Plugins tab, then click Open Custom UI.

Some triggers have multiple MacGruber logic bricks plugins loaded. And some triggers, trigger themselves. So it can get pretty confusing sometimes. But you can always figure out what is going on by just following the plugin references.

Pose and Attribute Save Buttons
Most basic scene edits can be done while in VR through these four buttons. The buttons pertain to the current page you are on. You start out on page A, and as you progress you’ll advance through to B, C, D, etc. If you change a pose and want to keep it, just hit the male or female save pose button. Now when you go back to that page, it will load your newly saved pose. Cycle force and sync force save buttons work in a similar way. Edit the cycle or sync force and save with these buttons. If you created a pose that you don’t want to keep (and haven’t hit save yet) simply reload that page and the last saved attribute will load.

Only the relevant buttons are shown based on the “page” you are on. If you advance to page b for example, then only page b buttons are shown. This is to prevent accidental saving over the wrong page. Eg - you don’t want to save current poses on page C to page D by accident!

There is a button that toggles on all of the save buttons! This is for if you actually want to save a current pose to another page. Be very careful!

To hide buttons again just advance to the next scene with [>] or relevant next scene button. It will automatically hide things again.

* Mildly interesting - Why didn’t I just use Subscenes for all of this?
The short answer is excruciatingly slow load times. When a subscene starts to contain many atoms, it gets really slow.




Special Story and Game Event Triggers

These are more custom triggers that happen based on what is going on in the scene. For example let's say you want to reveal a reward button to advance to the next scene after the female has climaxed. You would do that here. These triggers reference events and conditions that are happening in the:

If you choose to save your own custom poses and attributes (highly recommended because that’s where all the fun is!)
