The bar was almost empty when Lisa Rojo slid another drink across the counter toward me. Long dark hair, freckles, and that tight red top with the chains made her impossible to ignore. She leaned on her elbows, watching me over the rim of a glass, and every time she mixed something new she held my gaze a second longer than necessary.​

Closing time came and she didn’t rush me out. Instead she locked the front door, turned off most of the lights, and walked around the bar until she stood right in front of me. “You’ve been looking at me all night,” she said quietly, already untying the strings of her top.​

The red fabric fell away, followed by the short skirt, and she boosted herself up onto the bar counter, spreading her legs just enough.​

“Come here,” she whispered. “The place is ours now.”​
