I was sitting in the little corner café near the park when Gemma walked in, looking soft and pretty in her tight white crop top and jeans. She spotted me, smiled shyly, and came over with her coffee. “Mind if I sit with you?” she asked in a sweet voice, already sliding into the seat across from me.​

We talked for a while, and every time she laughed she tucked her blonde hair behind her ear, her eyes sparkling. When it started raining outside, she bit her lip and leaned a little closer. “My place is just around the corner… want to come over and wait out the rain with me?”​

There was something both innocent and inviting in the way she looked at me, like the cute girl next door who was secretly hoping you’d say yes.​
