This one's all about touch, and about every body.
A slap ripples the skin, presses and slides push the flesh around, a painted nose and ears bend out of the way, Male and Altfuta are now supported, and your maps travel between UV sets.

New Features ✨

NEW Impact
Go on, give it a slap…
A slap or any fast-landing object sends ripples across the skin and kicks Soft Tissue. The faster, wider or heavier the hit, the bigger the ripple, with up to eight rings at once. Body Sources lets another Person's hips, thighs and torso land hits too, and Starts At, Ripple, Rings, Wrap and Response tune it. Needs Contact Dent.

NEW Rim Bulge
Pushed-in skin has to go somewhere, right?
Press in and the flesh around the press rises. New on Contact Dent's Press card.

NEW Skin Drag
Slide across, and the skin comes along for the ride…
A sliding touch carries the skin with it until it slips, then lets it spring back for that elastic feel. Also on the Press card.

NEW Cartilage Simulation
Boop the nose. AND TO MORE KISSING SCENES ♡
A painted nose and ears bend aside under a press and spring back, and an ear folds over under a hard one. Paint it on both Persons with Sources From set to Persons or Everything, and two noses push each other aside in a kiss. Needs Contact Dent.

NEW Male and Altfuta
Every body gets a turn.
Male and Altfuta are now supported, and every feature binds. Testing has been limited, so let me know if you find any unexpected behavior.

NEW Maps that travel
Paint once, take it anywhere.
A map saved now fits every UV set and crosses between the female, male and altfuta figures.

NEW Highlight New
Spot what's new at a glance.
Controls and features now carry chips. NEW marks what arrived since your last version, and CHANGED marks what behaves differently. Both clear once you use the control, and chips on the rows lead you to them.
PERFORMANCE IMPACT and NOT RECOMMENDED stay put and explain why on hover. The Highlight chooser on the What's New card turns badges off or marks everything since a version you pick.

Adjustments 🛠️

  • Hair Maps — Save Hair Maps and Load Hair Maps keep all five Vellus Hair maps in one file. Coverage's own Save Map and Load Map moved under Show Advanced with the other four
  • Contact Dent — Response and Release moved under Show Advanced, so the Press card keeps the sliders you reach for most

Bug fixes 🐛

  • Skin textures — A skin texture loaded while Goosebumps, Pressure Marks or Fold Marks are on now lands gracefully, and the goosebumps follow the new normal map

Enjoy the update ♡

Vellus Hair has been rebuilt from the ground up: it looks like real hair, you can groom it, and it is lighter on your GPU.

Heads Up

  • Vellus Hair maps convert — Maps from version 1 are converted when they load, and a short report tells you what changed and which settings are new

New Features

  • Real hair lighting — A soft highlight, light passing through the strands, and a Melanin slider from clear blond fuzz to dark hair. It follows the lights in your scene and stays dark on the side the body shades
  • Grooming tools — Paint where the hair grows, how dense it is, how long, how far it leans and which way it lies, with Coverage, Density, Length, Lean and Comb
  • Generate Groom — The whole body in one press, laid the way fuzz grows on a person. Paint over it afterwards to taste
  • Variety — Every hair differs a little in stance, bend, length and width, so it stops looking combed by a machine
  • Better Painting & VR — The hair shows on the body while you paint, with Colors, Dark and Heatmap views. Paint To and Hardness paint an exact value with a soft or hard edge, and painting works in VR with both hands. VR was only tested on Oculus and not OpenVR/SteamVR

Performance

  • Visible hair only — Only the hair a camera can actually see is drawn now
  • Speed settings — If Vellus Hair is still heavy for you, two new settings under Advanced trade a little fuzz for speed: Thin Distant Hair Beyond and Skip Front-Facing Hair

Adjustments

  • Brush card — Clear, Fill and Invert moved into it and can be undone like any stroke, and it lists every key
  • Paint view — It sits exactly on the skin: no more bands over the eyes or skin showing through
  • What's New — Full Changelog opens every release's notes in one window

Bug fixes

  • Person reset — Resetting the Person (Reset, Reset Physical, Reset Appearance), or another plugin doing it, no longer wipes your Live Skin settings and maps. Thank you Betestav for the report
As always, tell me what breaks and what you would like to see next. Enjoy the update!
