EmbodyLite

Plugins + Scripts EmbodyLite

Download [<1 MB]
This is a remake of the bqbq plugin, version 15. The primary goal of this remake is to eliminate FPS drops. Numerous bugs have also been fixed, and the option to hide the face has been extended to include mannequins. In this version, the face is also visible in the screenshot camera view. Additionally, a mode has been added where the face is not rendered in mirrors, further boosting FPS.

Regarding VR: I am not familiar with the specifics of these devices and cannot test the plugin myself. I have implemented what I believe should work, and I look forward to your feedback.

FPS drops.
There are three factors that affect FPS in POV mode: 1) Hiding face geometry—and, more importantly, shadows and hair—can improve FPS; 2) Rendering the face in a mirror requires extra overhead to update various elements every frame, causing a minor FPS drop; 3) Any camera movement in VaM while the UI is active (F1 to switch) leads to an FPS drop (unexpectedly!). The impact of the first factor depends on the complexity of the hair. The second factor has a relatively small impact (around 10 FPS), which I have minimized as much as possible in this fork. The third factor is more complex: on a very weak processor (like my ), the FPS drop can reach 70%, while on modern processors, it is around 25%. This relates specifically to the CPU, not the graphics card. The bqbq's version had a flaw where it would always move the camera slightly, even when there was no actual movement, which triggered the third factor. I have resolved this issue.

FPS tests.
The tests were conducted in a scene featuring two mirrors, a shadow, and one character with very simple hair. Settings: Physics rate=60 Hz, cap=2. Two systems were tested: 1) my own, which uses the physics performance patch - Xeon E5-2680+RTX4060 and 2) vanilla VaM Ryzen 5 5600+RTX3060 system. The scene is configured so that switching to POV mode does not alter the camera position; therefore, FPS measurements are taken while maintaining a constant line of sight. However, I couldn't figure out how to achieve this for the Embody(Acid Bubbles) version, so the reproducibility of measurements there is low. In the table below "+UI" means the UI is not hidden by F1 key so the third factor is working. The SkipForAll feature is my new ability to sacrifice mirror view in favor of higher FPS (head absent in mirrors).
