  • Added VR mode keybinding for 'Capture' keyframe. The plugin works fine in VR! The binding uses the main trigger on the controllers. The keybinding allows for completely free capturing in VR - no keyboard needed, no glance to the UI to hit any buttons, just capture your ingame view by triggering the button on your VR controller. VR capturing is best done by activating the "Autoplay n Seconds After Capture" option. As in desktop mode, keybindings are only active if the plugin's UI is open.
  • Fixed some minor issues when loading the plugin before adding any instance of timeline.
  • Simplified the camera cut recording procedure. This process now involves capturing both the keyframe before and after the cut. Clicking on 'Capture with Cut' will take the current view as camera position before the cut, add +0.001 sec and then waits for another capture input by the user for the camera position after the cut. Help text messages are now included.
  • Fixed the problem of interfering keybindings while saving files or outside the plugin. The keybindings are now limited to be active only if the plugin's UI is open. Thanks @Pig Bros Productions for the bug report.
  • Greatly reduced the amount of data handled during the 'Add CamRide Layer' procedure. This might even have led to crashes, when single large animations have been involved. Now only necessary keys are copied.
  • The dropdown list under 'Camera Controls' now also allows to focus on non person atoms in the scene. Focusing rotates the player view to the selected atom, but also sets the cameras rotation center to the selected object (VaM UI button 'F'), which is very handy during recording camrides in Desktop.

  • New autoplay after capture feature: After capturing a keyframe, Timeline will automatically play the selected number of seconds of the animation and pause at the next keyframe position. You can meanwhile reposition the camera for the next keyframe. This mode allows you to capture entire camrides with only one button: Capture (keybinding ‘C’). You can always change the step width (Seconds slider). It has never been easier to create camrides in VaM!
  • New keybindings integrated: Control your camride capturing process solely with keybindings, no mouseclicks in the UI needed. The keybinding keys are written on the buttons, so there is no need to learn them by heart!
  • Improved the camera cut (jump) creation procedure (a camera jump is a cut in the camride where the view jumps to a new perspective). This procedure adds a very small timestep (+0.001 sec and the keyframe of the new perspective of the camera. I put this on a separate button. Us this while sitting on an existing keyframe, so that there will be the sequence of keyframe1 - 0.001 sec - keyframe2. Do not use this in Autoplay mode, as there would be more than 0.001 sec between two keyframes.
  • Added the possibility to combine the '+ n seconds' and '- n seconds' action in combination with shift (x 2) or ctrl (/ 2 timestep length)
  • Fixed the layer switch mechanics to account for asymmetric layer structure
  • Fixed the pause button method to involve other person atom’s animations. All animations will now stop.
  • Fixed the reset button to also stop any running animations (not only setting them back to scrubber 0 and continue running)
  • Many UI improvements
Let me know if you need a short tutorial video. Does it help your creative process? Please leave a comment in case of questions, bug reports or ideas about how to improve this plugin.
  • Simplified setup by allowing the plugin to be loaded on (any) person atom in the scene, and by loading the necessary SubScene, SubScene preset and CamRide layer upon a simple button click. No more SubScene spawning, no more constraints about where the plugin sits!
  • No constaints anymore regarding duplicate name animations across segments in timeline. Each segment may now contain an 'Anim 1' for example.
  • Changed the scrubber routine so that very small timesteps are now possible (down to 0.001 sec). If you add a very small timestep to the camride, this equals a ‘cuts’ and ‘jump’ in the cam ride since there is no frame displayed in between), giving you even more freedom to create individual camrides. Thanks @Pig Bros Productions for the idea!
  • Navigating with ‘+/- Keyframe’ now automatically adjusts the player camera to the keyframe perspective. This simplifies camride optimization a lot! Always take the perspective of your camride.
  • Fixed the amount of targets added to the CamRide layer in timeline (removed floats, triggers and poses). This speeds up the add camride process and keeps timeline files small.
  • Fixed a bug which occurred when changing the Person chooser to atoms without any timeline instance.
  • Added lots of checks and messages, catching potential errors or missing stuff.
Have fun recording camrides to your scenes! Please let me know if you find bugs or have ideas about how to improve this.
  • Bugfix: Fixed a NullReference error when restoring the SubScene into a scene with differently named atoms
  • Bugfix: Fixed the ‘Turn Camera to x’ function in case there are several person atoms in the scene
  • UI: Grouped buttons of the same function by color to facilitate quick navigation
  • Bugfix: Clip length indicator now showing correct value when no CamRide layer is present yet
  • New Function: Auto Focus On functionality with the camera controls. The chosen person atom will be set as the focus point for the player camera (very useful to record camrides)
