CPU Performance Patch (Up to 30% faster physics, up to 60% more FPS)

Other CPU Performance Patch (Up to 30% faster physics, up to 60% more FPS)

Holy Sheep Shit Batman! This gained me 30 fps on the ave and like 50 on the max on my 3700x... It was so much faster when I was benching it that I really didn't believe it...

I dont even think I have the settings really fine tuned.,.. Crazy stuff!

Excellent, and gives a performance boost just as great as advertised. I've giving it 4 instead of five stars only because it also introduced instability into my particular setup.

My testing suggests that the normal VaM problem with the Unity garbage collector crashing when there are too many vars/morphs, is actually worse with this patch in place.

For anyone with less than 5k vars, you may never notice anything, but in my setup with 10k+ vars, loading without this patch is slow as molasses, but it works 90% of the time. With this patch, most things will load faster, but every scene carries about a 60% chance of triggering the GC crash, with a higher chance for mocap or more complex scenes.

Oh my days, I just installed this and ran for a few zen scenes and the wait times have gone from like 5 minutes to like 45 seconds for me personally. Unfortunately I can't run a benchmark 4 tests at the moment but I will once I find the problem. This man needs to be on MVR team immediately. Thanks for your effort with this. I would give more stars if I could.

How to set 7950x

Raised Baseline 3 significantly

Must have for VaM. Big thanks for the author.

Confirmed: this is not hype. Baseline 3 of Benchmark went from AVG 62 / MIN 56 FPS to 103 / 69 FPS.

Amazing job.
I gained about 60% more FPS on my 10900k/3090 system with this patch.
Shout out to Vr_Vammer for suggesting using ChatGPT.

i used this but my cpu still remains below 30percent....what should i do?........i have ryzen1800x....any help would be greatly appreciated

In physics-heavy scenes, with both soft physics and high quality physics enabled, and all other settings maxed out (except for resolution scale... no need for higher than 1.0, imo), this plugin made an absolutely massive difference. Nearly unplayable before, between 15 and 30 FPS generally, I'm getting between 60-100 FPS consistently. Amazing addition, and MeshedVR and all other VAM team members really should consider this being added to VAM 1x by default (assuming turtlebackgoofy were okay with it - otherwise, at least encouraging everyone to download it). Amazing work!

Very good work! My Vam is def running 30-40% faster now on my Intel i9 & 4090 Nvidia Geforce RTX. I pushed everything to 10 and it´s working fine for now.

I have a tendency to build scenes that are hard on resources such as two recent favorite ones. One has three characters in it, the other four. The former one also has a ton of other CUAs and nice room environment. I had scaled this one back as it would barely run on my old i7 7700k, 32GB ram and RTX3060 with 12 GB. With this patch I am able to run it in it's original configuration and maintain about 28fps, this is in VR with a quest 3. Which is perhaps less than ideal, but acceptable. A base scene that has only a couple having fun on a sofa, with a floor and three lights runs at 180 fps (desktop mode). I may have to retime the action as it appears in fast motion!

Thank you so much for this patch!

Setup: Alienware M15 R3 Laptop using Oculous 3 VR
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10750H CPU @ 2.60GHz, 2592 Mhz, 6 Core(s), 12 Logical Processor(s)
GPU: NVIDIA Geforce RTX 2060

Absolutely fantastic. After modifying my settings I saw an increase from ~120 to ~170 in FPS on VAM's default scene with the one model. I also tried a scene with 1 character walking around and framerate was stable around 153. My computer setup is ancient at this point, so seeing this increase in FPS and load times has been a blessing. I’ll try and upload pics of benchmark settings later for various scenarios.

Side Note: I input the provided ReadMe note and my system setup into ChatGPT to get feedback on how to optimally tune SkinMeshPartDLL.ini for my setup and it’s in line with the recommendations provided above:

Does anyone know how to optimize the i7-10750H? The graphics card is an RTX 2070.

First: I had to re-register lol hahahah.

Second: I think i speak for almost everyone who tried this out !

THANK YOU !!!!

This really improved my FPS from just drop and dragging it into my Vam directory.
My specs are:
Intel i9 12900K 3.20GHz base speed
Nvidia Geforce GTX 3090ti 24 GB ram. Brand MSI
System Ram: 2x Corsair RGB Something 2133MHz With EMP it's to 4000MHz

Upon loading a scene which i made with particles, objects and a character i had 30 FPS.
Upon loading the same scene with this wonderful patch i got 71 FPS.
THATS DOUBLE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If someone could make a tutorial on Intel and Nvidia card specs how to set it up that would be lovely :)
I am not a person who is with computers and stuff but the basics i know and can find like my own specs but that's just about it hehehehe.

Once again thank you so much for this and have a wonderful day.

15-50fps extra for free! Even more if you have a 4090.

Amazing!! But - could a script potentially be written that examines the processor and comes up with the optimal settings for the ini file?

THANK YOU Turtlebackgoofy. Massive improvement.

Also.... WTF? Could it have been running like this all along? Is there are reason that made this patch possible only now? The improvement in load times, from scenes to morph menu, is a huge quality of life improvement, not to mention overall performance gains. This should be integrated into VAM by default (crediting turtlebackgoofy ofc).
