• Hi Guest!

Please be aware that we have released another critical security patch for VaM. We strongly recommend updating to version 1.22.0.12 using the VaM_Updater found in your installation folder.

Details about the security patch can be found here.
BrowserAssist

Paid Plugins + Scripts BrowserAssist

Bug Fixes:
  • Resolved a bug (introduced in v1.32.0) that caused BA to crash on startup if BA had not been previously run in that instance of VAM.
  • Resolved a bug that caused an error on startup in certain scenarios where VARManagement was not active but a VAR was disabled in VAM.
  • Resolved an issue that was causing thumbnail images of resources to not always be loaded if using the filter by Resource name
Improvements
  • Implemented some performance improvements that may reduce BA startup times
New Features:
  • VAR Package resource type now provides a browser view by Packages. This view will support a range of VAR Management features in the future. Initial features include
    • Ability to offload, disable or enable individual packages (when VARManagement is enabled). This will not modify any VARManagement rulesets.
    • Filter to find VARs that have any missing dependencies.
    • Sort VARs by the count of Morphs and see the number of Morphs in each package (allows identification of packages that will have the largest fps performance impact)
    • Tag VARs and then use those tags in VAR Management rulesets
    • Info panel now contains stats on:
      • Morph Count in each VAR
      • Dependency Count (and missing dependency count). i.e. number of VARs that each VAR has a dependency on.
      • Used by Count - shows the number of VARs that depend on the selected VAR (the reverse of dependencies). This allows identification of VARs that can be deleted without breaking other VARs.
  • New visual queue (a small purple square icon - similar to the green (favorite) and red (hidden) icons) in the Browser window indicates when resources have been offloaded or disabled by VARManagement.
  • If the SymLinks to AddonPackages is not working then, the VARManagement tab in the plugin UI will now be visible but with an appropriate warning.
Bug fixes:
  • Fixed a performance bug that was impacting fps after repeated loading of scenes (when VAR Management was being used).
New Features:
  • Hair browser (similar to Clothing browser) provides an alternative Browser to the VAM Hair browser with all the extra BA features (e.g. being able to bulk Tag multiple items etc.)
  • In Desktop mode, the Browser restores the last docked position (i.e. left, right or expanded) when restarting BA.
Bug fixes:
  • Fixed a bug importing appearance presets from Scenes with missing VAR dependencies when using the Only Suppress Real Clothing option
CAUTION: Before using this version of BA, it is recommended that existing users take a backup of their Meta data using the backup tool in the plugin UI under "Global Settings > Backups". This version introduces support for a new Resource type (Hair) which has a slightly increased risk of causing Tag data corruptions (there are no specific known issues that would cause corruptions, but taking a backup is just a sensible precaution).

VAR Management: Users of the BA VAR Management feature with large numbers of Offloaded or Disabled VARs, may experience a slow BrowserAssist start on first using this release. BA needs to re-scan every VAR for Hair items and will need to re-enable all VARs to achieve this. VARs will be returned to their previous state once re-scanned and normal BA start times will resume after the first BA start up.
Resolved a bug that fixes issues with Importing of Presets (etc.) from local Scenes (i.e. not in VARs) when dependent VARs are offloaded using VARManagement.
New Features:
  • BrowserAssist VAR Management. Improve VAM performance by offloading or disabling VARs that are not required. BrowserAssist can still browse all content, even when the VAR is offloaded or disabled. VARs are dynamically and automatically re-enabled on demand when a resource load occurs from BrowserAssist.
Bug fixes:
  • Removed an error when loading presets with clothing SELF references
  • Folder browser options for Moving, deleting and renaming were not available for resources other than Scenes
New Features:
  • New Timeline Import option (Patreons Only) to import and play Timeline animations directly from Scene files. This will replace any existing Timeline plugins on the target atom. Some errors may be reported by the Timeline plugin - due to dependencies on Atoms in the source scene which dont exist in the current scene. Feature works best on simple Timeline setups (e.g. VAMTimbo animations) rather than from more complex scenes.
  • New option to Suppress loading Pose Morphs when loading a Pose Preset (or Importing a pose from another scene)
  • New option to Suppress loading the root node when loading a Pose Preset (or Importing a pose from another scene). This is useful if you dont want the target person to move location (some pose presets can have the root node included - determined when the preset is saved).
Bug fixes:
  • Fixed a bug in the CreateBASymLinks batch file which caused issues if the folder VAM\Saves\Person did not exist.
  • Text fields through out the plugin now allow selecting sections of text by dragging the mouse cursor.
  • Fixed a bug where using the <New Atom> target for Clothing Items was not creating a new Person.
Bug Fixes:
  • Resolved a bug introduced in v1.28.0 that caused VAM errors when importing certain appearance presets from a scene.
New Features:
  • Support for Audio resource types (mp3, wav and ogg formats). Audio files can now be browsed, tagged and filtered. Option to play or queue selected or random audio files.
  • New Audio Player action tab. The audio queue for each AudioSource atom can now be inspected and modified - not previously possible with VAM or other audio plugins. A scrubber for the currently playing audio file allows the currently playing position of an audio file to be viewed and modified.
  • Other AudioSource settings (e.g. Pan, Spatial bending, Volume etc) can be adjusted from BrowserAssist
  • New 'Keep Open' option for the Tagging side bar allows tagging to be accessed when accessing other resource action tabs.
Bug fixes:
  • Various fixes to the 'Force Not Real' toggle for Clothing items. This setting will persistently force the VAM 'Real Clothing" setting to be false each time the clothing items is worn. Allows the setting to override those stored by package creators of clothing items and presets. The 'Real Clothing' item toggle was introduced into VAM to support clothing items such as eye textures to be treated differently to other clothing items (e.g. Remove Real Clothing). This feature makes using that setting practical as historic clothing items can be persistently set as not 'Real Clothing' once in BA and that setting then persists across all scenes and sessions.
  • Fixed the 'Rescan' button on Importing from scenes which was not properly rescanning scenes.
Bug Fixes:
  • Resolved a bug introduced in v1.27.0 that caused VAM errors when loading certain appearance presets. To fully resolve, a restart of VAM may be required once this new version of BA has been set to load.
New Features:
  • New Tag Categories allow user created tags to be grouped into user defined Tag Categories.
  • Custom tag colors can be configured per Tag Category
  • New 'Force Not Real' toggle for Clothing items. Will persistently force the VAM 'Real Clothing" setting to be false each time the clothing items is worn.
  • Additional AcidBubbles Keybinding options to bind keyboard key strokes to switch between Resource Action tabs e.g. switch from the Tags tab to the Action tab.
