This is a major rewrite of a plugin to control handcuffs, to make it much easier to use, more robust, and more efficient. I also added a subscene (cuffed woman), pose (hands behind back), CUAManager preset, and simple demo scene for ease of use.
  • adjusted UI to simplify opening and closing cuffs intuitively.
  • added an option to toggle collision of cuffs, disabled by default (it tends to fight with attached person's collision and physics goes wild)
  • fixed many loading cases, including as a subscene.
  • optimized to use event handlers rather than constant polling and updating every frame.

Directions​

The simplest approach is to just start with the supplied "Handcuffed" scene. It includes a woman, posed with her hands behind her, with the cuffs linked to her arms and connected via the plugin. To maintain integrity between the cuff chains, you'll need to keep her arms close together, such as by manipulating her arm controls.

As desired, you may open either cuff via the handy sliders in the plugin's UI (plugin is on the "CUA Handcuff Left"). The cuff openness may be driven by Timeline, and its state will be maintained across saving and loading.

If you want the cuffs to have collision, you can simply toggle that on via the plugin's UI. It's generally proven to work poorly from my experience, but I left it as an option in case you have some use for that.

You may also add the cuffed woman to an existing scene via the "Cuffed" subscene.

I also added a "Handcuffs" preset for Blazedust's CUAManager plugin, so you can add just the cuffs to an existing character. Note that in this case, the chain links may be going nuts, if the hands are too far apart, but you can simply move the hands close enough together to address that, and the links should settle down quickly. You can even use the "Cuffed" pose preset to position the hands appropriately.

I've had some success with creating a dummy object between the cuffs and physics linking the arm controls to that, turning on gravity and physics of the dummy object afterwards. This way, the arms mostly act naturally, hanging downwards while the rest of the body moves around. However, it can lead to odd trailing when moving quickly, and sometimes even major physics craziness.
