Before you dive into downloading the files and trying the story, please read this carefuly.
2069 is really heavy. To enjoy the story, you should have at least 16gb of RAM, 32gb being the optimal.
The story has been crafted to be ran in VR between 35 to 45fps and above.
The optimal user settings to get a good framerate on a middle / high end PC in VR are :
Shader quality : high
MSAA : Off or 2 max.
Pixel Light count : 3x
Smooth Passes : 1
Physics Rate : 45hz
Physics Update Cap : 3 or 2 min.
Desktop Vsync : disabled
Soft body physics : disabled
If you don’t know, these settings can be found in the menu : User Preferences > Performance Tab.
The optimal user settings to get a good framerate on a middle / high end PC in desktop are :
Whatever gets you 45fps or more.
KNOW ISSUES :
- Having a low framerate in VR or a misconfiguration on the physics rate / update will result in apotential desynchronization of the sound.
- The animated square that enables Launch can require to be clicked twice before changing its state
- The launch feature is experimental. It works well on the first scene, but can be glitchy on the others.
Maybe it will be improved in a future update if I find a way to smooth it out. ( I won't troubleshoot launch issues )
- Sometimes, for an unknown reason, the game can crash on the first load of the introduction- After loading at least one scene of the story. When you try to load another scene not related to 2069,
the game can crash or stall for over 3 minutes before loading the selected scene. To avoid that,
use the ‘’hard reset’’ button in the menu or exit and launch the game again.
The story has been tested with the help of a few advanced creators and users of VAM. No one has has encountered major issues to run it smoothly in VR or not. Unless you stumble upon a really critical bug I haven’t discovered yet... you know everything. If your experience is bad, refer to the user settings
or know issues before asking for support.
If you have a critical issue with the story that isn’t in the known issues, please write a detailed feedback
on the discussion thread.
Please be kind if you encounter any issue. This is free content, and I don’t have a Q&A team to test the content on dozens of different configurations to prevent every bug.
The scene has been tested and released for 1.20.0.10
Normal ( no launch )
- hazmhox.2069.1.var
- hazmhox.2069.1.var.depend.txt
- 2069-dependencies.zip
OR Launch enabled
- hazmhox.2069launch.1.var
- hazmhox.2069launch.1.var.depend.txt
- hazmhox.2069presets.1.var
- 2069-dependencies.zip
You will also have to download the repack of the launch plugin if you don't have it.
In both cases
The neptune dress from CosmicFTW is not included in the dependencies package because it is really huge. You can find it here. It is only needed if you're trying to open all scenes from Eve's var file.
Extract 2069-dependencies.zip inside your AddonPackages folder. This file allows you to not run everywhere to find the dependencies since VAM does not do the job for you at the moment.
You are working at UltraCity Police Departement, Cyber Crimes division.
Since a few months, you are tracking a netrunner who has discovered a way to get away with his crimes.
Today, he knows who you are, and someone is going to pay the price.
The story is some kind of Groundhog day, with a few interactions and ambiant animations to immerse you in a sexy cyberpunk encounter.
It has 5 scenes and the epilogue for a total of over 11 minutes of custom animation. Each scene is looping except the epilogue of course.
Besides the obvious door... there are two mechanics that can be hard to find.
The rotating square (only with the launch version)
This is the way to enable or disable the Launch plugin. When it is red, the launch is paused. When it is blue, the launch is un-paused. In each scene I tried to position properly the invisible buttons to be able to click easily... but it can still be tricky in VR tho.
Next and Previous scene
You will see to light circle on both side of the bedroom, when you look at them, a help text will appear.
One side is for the next day, the other is for the previous day.
Possession is disabled on characters because, to be honest, in every scene I’ve tried, possession breaks characters positions. I have created a possess position that will allow you to position yourself easily. The story has been made as ‘’you playing the guy’’. If you’re more interested to be the girl, you will have to position yourself manually.
Take the time to immerse yourself, don’t rush.
Some scene are incredibly great in VR as the guy. Some are way better witnessed as a third person close to the protagonists.
I know there is room for improvement(s), and well... I’m the sound guy, not the animation guy... so I try
to do my best ;]
Any feedback is appreciated. This is my first huge project on VAM and I know a lot more about the engine
now than when I started it months ago. This is mostly why I rebooted the project a few months ago to get
a cleaner and better optimized scene. So maybe my next project will be better.
First, a really special thank to Acid Bubbles and Spacedog for the support, troubleshooting, ideas, feedback and more.
A ton of thanks to these creators who released tools or content that made 2069 possible or
helped me in one way or another for this project :
oeshii for the wonderful hairs releases
https://www.patreon.com/oeshii
Acid Bubbles for the incredible plugins and the help provided on Discord for some coding shenanigans

SCAMP, for the wonderful body hairs releases
https://hub.virtamate.com/members/scamp.83/
A lot of thanks to these creators who inspired me directly or indirectly for 2069 or released
tools and scripts that allowed me to create content for 2069... because why not :
MacGruber, WadeVR, IsaacNewtongue, Ren, Roac, Damarmau, Selchidh, Logan... and maybe more,
but I forgot.
And thank you to the community who support us creators, take the time to give us feedback or releases awesome free content. Keep up the great work. Keep playing and creating in VAM.
And of course, thanks to meshed and his team for this incredible engine.
