Tried many variations, including vsync on/off, 60Hz through to 120hz within VAM and also Desktop.

Best results with minimal stuttering I got was to set the desktop to 60 Hz and setting the VSync to on at 75hz within VAM.

Any advice would be highly appreciated.

A stutter in recording is not first and foremost tied to the performances (of the game itself).
There are all sorts of reasons it could happen:
  • Overall power of the setup ( CPU/RAM )
  • Speed of the storage
  • Stability of the system
If you're planning on making advanced videos, with editing and whatnot, consider offline rendering.

Yeah, I figured the same. i just can't seem to figure out the bottleneck with scenes of an average FPS of 50-60 fps.

You could have something demanding on the HDD/SSD which prevents the recorder to write fast enough maybe?

Yup it's perfectly alright. But let's say you'd have a "rogue" antivirus scanning your drives like crazy (for whatever reason) you could still have these kind of issues.

Yeah, I have checked all these things out already, and my pc on idle is basically sleeping. What did you mean when you mentioned "offline rendering"

Pre-rendered scenes, like with Eosin video renderer. It records the video frame by frame then produce the final file. You generally never have stutter like these, and you can render at big resolutions with PCs which could not record in realtime.

Will give it a go, thanks.

I had a big problem with clothes physics not keeping up with the animation when using the Eosin renderer. In my Hot 4 Teacher scene, the dress clips like mad using the Eosin renderer. It's not a problem for me with the Nvidia App. The Eosin renderer is the only way to go if you want VR180 or super high res, as hazmox pointed out.
