VaM 1.x I have a question: Why does the character's pose change from what it was before after I load a pose and then rotate the character around in a circle?

I loaded a certain pose preset, and then I rotated it 180°, and his legs seem to be distorted? It only looks normal at the angle at which it was loaded; after rotating it around, it becomes weird! What causes this?

Why? Because the bone colliders collide with each other when turning, the character's physics is set up to maintain inertia. How can this be avoided? Disable inertia conservation or, if needed, disable collision and physics before turning

Hello, thanks for your reply!!! I tried what you suggested, and found that it still splits apart after restoring physics! But I suspect it's because I was originally in a high-heel pose and then switched to a non-high-heel pose, which caused it to become misaligned? Or is it related to SkyNet's "better bending"?

Freeze physics and disable collision before turning the model, then re-enable them. See if that helps.

Check to see if any of the nodes are set to "comply" for their position or rotation values, If they are, the physics will move their position, so set them to "on".

You can change multiple node setting in the "Control and physics 2" tab without it moving the model too much.

Thank you for your kind reply. I'll give it a try later!

There's also a setting to freeze physics while grabbing. If you're grabbing the model and using the manipulator to rotate it, that might help. Rotating the model by other means won't be helped by that setting.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge! I will try this method! Thank you very much.

If nothing changed after disabling collisions, check the parent links on the controllers.
Hello, thank you for your reply. This character's atoms have indeed had custom Unity components (or something of the sort) added to each joint by the author, and I'm not sure why they did so, haha... However, I will try removing those custom Unity components and then attempt the rotation again! Thank you very much.

Hello, after removing the links, make sure to resave the pose.
Alright, thank you! I will give it a try. I currently usually save the entire character atoms as a [Basic Preset]—who would have thought that it would actually save the linked Unity as well!!!

You should only be using the Appearance Preset and Pose Preset tabs in the UI. Do not use the "legacy" presets under General Presets or Control & Physics 1. If a model has CUA hair, then an appearance preset will not save that. Look up CUA hair, if that's an issue for you.
