VaM 1.x Import assets through the clothing creator II - Electric Boogaloo

I used the title of a previous thread, but I have a somewhat different intent, hence the "Electric Boogaloo" sequel identifier.

I've found what I would generally think of as clothing items, which would serve perfectly for my personal avatar (rimless round eyeglasses and a round black smartwatch) as CUAs, and while I can position them and glue them to VIrt-a-Me's face and wrist in an individual scene, they don't seem to persist in presets which clothing does, So I'm wondering how to import tham as clothing for my personal use. Is that something I can import through Clothing Creator?

CUAs do not get saved in clothing or appearance presets. You can use a CUA manager to manage them.

Which is why I want to convert these to clothing items. I don't want to publish them -- that's up to their creators -- but for my own use.

I think it's more complicated to do that. Also, glasses don't work well as clothing because they will distort with facial expressions. Glasses work best left as CUAs.

There are lots of glasses listed as clothing. Virt-a-Me has been wearing a pair for years on my other computer. These are just better suited to the character.

So, assuming I want to settle for these as clothing, is there a way to convert the CUA?

It can be done with Stoppers clothing plugin manager and static clothing plugin. I've not set up clothing plugins myself, but I think they can work by linking and positioning a cua to select through the clothing menu. That's how Qdaro's piercing set works.
