Preset question

Can someone explain why sometimes my presets don't show after i save it on a clothing. When i open the file in the directory I see it but when i click presets in game it isn't popping up. Thanks in advance!

Its strange, Sometimes when i make presets and click the preset button it shows in a folder no problem. But On some clothing Ill do the same process but when i click preset there's nothing there. however when i look in the directory folder in my file explorer it shows that i saved it???

Are you consistently using Clothing Presets, not legacy presets? Which directory are you looking in with file explorer?

Yes only clothing preset... Whats legacy preset? and im looking in my normal file explorer in my custom clothing directory. I can see the preset in directory but in game its blank like I didn't make one.

You still didn't specify the actual folder path, or provide screenshots. Please do that. The Clothing Preset tab is in the upper left of the UI just below the Clothing tab. If you consistently use that tab, the clothing presets end up in Custom\Atom\Person\Clothing. The ones I create are always visible in game, using the Clothing Preset tab.

The first photo is my directory, even though it says i have a preset available its not showing in my game {second photo}

This is how it is supposed to look like when you open the preset browser from within the clothing preset tab. Different path and it should show the .vars that contain presets in the list on the left. Make sure that you are in the right tab/using the right preset browser.

Custom/Clothing/Female is not the place to put modern (1.2x) clothing presets. Custom/Atom/Person/Clothing is where clothing presets go. If you consistently use the tab highlighted by CV42, it will all work.

I'm not referring to clothing preset. that's all the clothes on the person.

I'm referring to clicking the clothing and loading a preset from the customize tab.

Can someone please explain this? The only reference i have is if I'm working on say 2 shoes and i copy the textures from one to the other shoe and finalize (save mesh) it just doesn't show when i try to load that preset.

Your presets should work fine IF you are looking for the proper presets in the proper clothing asset.
Can you do the same video, and show how you create a preset for one of the shoes? From start to end, and then showing it does not show up when trying to load it.

Also, avoid ( which is a polite way of saying "don't" ) use special chars besides - and _ in your naming schemes, this could lead to unwanted results.
Prefer Hugg Right or Hugg_Right or Hugg-Right, than Hugg [R]

As a content creator/developer, you should always avoid special chars as you don't know what target system the content is gonna be used on... encoding is sadly very annoying. Cyrillic/Asian chars tend to break things, and latin special chars also. To avoid any potential problem, restrict character usage to alphabetical (lower and uppercase), numerical and basic separators.

OMG THANK YOU!!!! Your a genius!!! it was the special characters this whole time smh. You just saved my work now i can present more presets!
