File (Open/Save)
”New Scene” loads the “default.json” file located inside your VaM install “\Saves\scene\MeshedVR” folder. If you want to load your own default scene you can place your own file named “default.json” inside the root “\Saves\scene” folder. Overwriting the original MeshedVR file is not recommended because it may be overwritten when repairing or updating the VaM install.
”New Empty Scene” Creates a new scene containing only a “PlayerNavigationPanel” and a “WindowCamera”
”Open Package Manager” Opens the Add-On Package Manager. A convenient way to manage the custom content you have created locally or downloaded from the VaMHub.
”Load” Opens the “Select Scene To Load” window. The scene when loaded will be in “Play” mode. See Saving and Loading for more info.
”Load Scene in Edit Mode” Opens the “Select Scene To Load” window. The scene when loaded will be in “Edit” mode. See Saving and Loading for more info.
”Online Browser” Opens the legacy online browser.
”Merge Load Scene” Merges in the assets from the selected scene into your current scene. A few rules to keep in mind when merging:
”Save Scene” Opens the “Select Save File” window.
See Saving and Loading for more info.
”Save Scene and Add To New Package”
”Save Scene and Add to Current Package ”
”Open Package Builder”
”Save Legacy Package (VAC)” File Types
”Screenshot Mode” Puts you into Screenshot mode.
”Message Log” Opens the message log. Same function as
”Open Message Log” In the Base UI.
”Error Log” Opens the error log. This is the same function as
”Open Error Log” In the Base UI.
”Hard Reset” Hard reset will essentially reboot VaM. Clearing out any physics issues, flushing memory and putting the program into the same state it was when launched without having to relaunch.
”Quit” Exits the program. Just like the
“Exit” button in the Base UI. Be sure to save your work!
- A VaM scene can only have one camera and one PlayerNavigation Panel. The merged file will always overwrite the current settings. Multiples can exist in the same scene if you start renaming things. However they start to fight for dominance and then they start peeing everywhere, it’s a mess. Don’t do it.
- If any atoms in the current scene have identical names to what is being merged they will adopt the loaded atom’s properties. This is very handy when you want to show progression with characters in your scenes without having to completely reload the scene.
See Saving and Loading for more info.
