Question Why are some characters not loadable through appearance preset?

I just imported a bunch of paid character files and none of them are on it when I click all flatten. Am I forced to manually go into every character showcase and save their look?

If an appearance preset is not provided, then you have to save your own locally to plug that character into another scene. That's the way it works.

Most looks are shared as scene files which act as showcases for the look. You can use Appearance Loader by @ky1001 to load a look directly from the scene file
