Why are my desktop mode and vam exe files being deleted?

In the last month I've seen both these files disappear from my VAM install folder. When I try to paste them back in, Windows says I need admin rights to do so. I've tried numerous solutions that don't work, anti virus, defender ect... What is going on here? I did not go through Steam either, always from MeshedVR for like 5 years now if that makes a difference.

Where is you VaM folder?
Don't leave it in a protected folder like Program Files or and the likes.

The only thing I've heard of that could cause this is an overprotective antivirus program.
But the fact Windows is telling you you need admin privilege's to put them back does make it sound like Vam is in a write protected folder. Liker program files or program files (86). Move the folder somewhere else.
