Theorizing VAM: A Guide of Sorts for the Noob Searching for the Center of the Maze - Theory of VAM

Just some thoughts I've been having on a kind of theory of VAM. This is a guide in a way, but mostly just me jotting down some notes for future reference and hopefully to help newcomers.

Intro

As I read through several of the guides and pieces of advice on here, they often seem like they're written by or for programmers or at least people with a rudimentary knowledge of programming, design, animation, basic photography and sometimes even anatomy and physiology.

Overall I nicely written guide but I think your use of phrases like "There are a number of tutorials on the..." or whenever you imply that answers can be found elsewhere kind of defeats the purpose of your post being a helpful guide for newbies. I mean, of course most of the VaM answers can be found if you search long enough and I think you could have omitted all your references to that since it's stating the obvious. For me going on a scavenger hunt to find out how to do something has been the source of some frustration. More often than not I don't find the answer anywhere and must post a question here on the Hub, wait a day or two (or longer) and hope a nice, knowledgeable person sees the post and answers.

Also, I may be in the minority but when you said "VAM's principal allure is being able to bang a facsimile of just about anyone." that doesn't always apply to me. I must be weird but when I see a celebrity or star in a movie or TV show I rarely use them as sex fantasy. One exception might be porn stars. Overall I just like good looking people and VaM certainly has plenty of those. But more than that, I find the little subtle reactions of these CGI people to be extremely erotic and sexy. A little smile here, some random eye contact there, it all adds up to a very exciting sexual experience for me. I'm actually surprised how much this turns me on. Maybe I feel it's easier to stare at these 3D people more than I do real people in my life. With real people at some point they think you're creepy or weird if you stare too much but the VaM creations have no such judgement. They even seem to enjoy the attention!

But I appreciate your taking the time to post. I share all of your thoughts about the potential of VR porn and still wonder why it isn't more popular. And I thank my lucky stars that I somehow found out about VaM since it has provided me hours of enjoyment. I'm finding one of my favorite activities is to "play god" as it will and create my own Adam and Eves. Sorry god, but I think mine are sexier! Now I know how Michelangelo felt creating sculpture like David, molding a beautiful person out of clay or stone. Being able to do that digitally in VaM has awakened the artist in me. Although again, the process of creating your own Looks in VaM can be challenging because of the dozens (hundreds?) of settings. Yet it's still a ton easier than working in Daz3D or probably any other program.

I can't wait to see how VaM continues to develop.

Thanks for the comment. I agree that it isn't useful as a guide in the traditional sense. I posted this more as a means of theorizing what VAM is and can be as well as how you might think strategically about how to use it. There is an exhaustive wiki here that I think answers a lot of technical questions in video and text format and also at the Reddit link I posted. I know leaving things up to people to search for isn't helpful for "how do I just..." type questions that come up OFTEN, but searching for info, following breadcrumbs, etc is really the only way you get to know this software's capabilities. I similarly didn't link to users who I mentioned because I wanted to encourage folks to start using the search function early and often.

I also agree that the unfamiliar looks and appearances are often even hotter than anyone familiar, but may not be what's drawing people here in the first place or what shows people the power of these instruments. Replication is definitely easier than creation in a sense, but replication often attracts our sense of wonder in ways that are pleasing and comforting. Your point about staring is an interesting one too because long stares at people are indeed harassing and unnerving. The gaze is a powerful force and to be able to gaze on something humanoid, albeit not human, and especially a someone that maybe only a few dozen or hundred or thousand people on earth have ever seen psychically rewarding. It sparks a collectors impulse and collecting looks can become its own obsession like collecting dolls, comics, baseball cards, coins, stamps, records, etc. Making your own just elevates this to another level and is a great way to stretch your creative muscles, much like going deep in the character customization menus in video games. Good luck in your godhood!

I don't know if anyone else has mentioned this but learning how to get your paid content such as VAMX and others add-ons to go to the right files to be able to get used after you download them and. also how its the best digital creations the average human eyes have seen ..#Facts good summary in.Other words .....
