Personally in some rare occasions I experienced in dekstop mode that if I click and drag a node it became locked on the mouse movement. However a doubleblick anywhere solved this issue quickly. Also happens in VR (Index) with the trigger button if pressed fully to end (but its intended in VR this way).
However make sure you are running the latest VaM version. If this issue is still there I would consider to try out a fresh VaM installation. Also programs in the background popping up with a massge or anything like that could cause a "lock".
