I will not go into detail on how to setup passthrough for the quest 3 with virtual desktop. There already really good guides out there. This is my settings for best results. I have spent more time tweaking settings then I would like to admit but I believe I nailed it. If you have some settings you would like to share or suggest i would love to hear them. that being said here's my settings.
In virtual desktop set VR passthrough environment to [red-0, green-71, blue-0]
Set [similarity] to 7%
Set [Smoothness to 3%
Set [Gamma] to 0.97
Select [medium quality]. (Higher quality uses a lot of gpu power for minimal to no gain is clarity)
Select [snapdragon super resolution]
Select [increase color vibrance]
Select [increase video normal range]
Sharpening set to 0 ( 10 to 20 max. Personally I find it makes skin look smeared)
Use VDRX
Use H.264 Plus codec
Bit rate 300-500. (My router is wifi 6E 2400mbs an 2.5 gig lan to the PC)
Turn off [automatically adjust bitrate] ( you do you)
In the quest itself go to settings /Visual/ accessibility/ contrast. set it to %50. so the slider should be in ther middle.
Now make your way to [advanced] and select [content adaptive brightness control]
Now in Steam VR set resolution to auto. should show up as %150.
Turn off [advanced super sample filtering]
Ok now lets jump into VAM
Set you in game resolution percentage to %150. this should match your Steam VR resolution.
Download and add the plugin [Camera Backgroung Color] https://hub.virtamate.com/resources/camera-background-color.24185/overview-panel
Set the color to match your Virtual desktop color. so set it to [red-0, green-71, blue-0]
Select [render (control-R) (experimental)]. this shoud remove everything except any persons. if you want something like a atom or whatever just select it from the menu
Download the plug-in [focus on me] https://hub.virtamate.com/resources/focusonme.35993/overview-panel
Inside focus on me plug-in select [ toggle scene light] you want to turn off the scene light
Now load my personal light profile from the focus on me plug-in.
ENJOY! contact me if you have any questions or if i wasn't clear on something. ill add screenshots if needed.
