For the few playing VAM or making stuff for VAM on linux, this application does work with Proton launchers.
On my test, I have some issues when using a CachyOS or GE launcher, but with UMU it works perfectly. It's the same when running VAM, but on your end it may be different.

I can build a native Linux version if you'd prefer, but I don't think there's much need. I was actually a bit surprised, though. I'd heard about people running VaM on Linux, but I've never run into someone who actually uses Linux as their primary OS for it. There must be something that makes it worthwhile?

Thanks, but I think that there's no need for a native linux package as it runs great with proton. Running VAM on linux needs some option of Proton anyway, so those few doing that already have it.
I've been using linux to run VAM on desktop mode for a while now, but still kept Windows to play VAM in VR and for some other games. Recently I gave VR on linux another try and it's now a lot more stable and performant, so I finally threw Windows to the bin.
