Question Picking something up with Timeline and parenting

So I have a person atom, she's doing some stuff in the room. At one point during her animation, she's supposed to pick up an object and put it away again later. Let's say a phone.

Do I add acidbubbles timeline to that object too and animate then together with the person or is there a way to do that with only the person atom?

Help would be appreciated

Set the hand as a link (Select link to from scene) in the phone's control, then use a trigger in Timeline to change the controls to Parent Link at the moment the hand approaches the phone.
