Question Person appearance keeps changing

In several of my scenes, I've noticed that the appearance of my persons keeps changing. I'll apply an appearance preset, save it, load the scene again, and the skin texture will revert to some other appearance. Sometimes this will happen with one person, but not another. Anyone else experiencing this?

I guess I can trigger the appearance preset on scene load, but that's seems like an extra step that should be unnecessary.
