Hey All! I have been away from the community for a while. It seems like there has been a lot of growth! What have been the most interesting developments over the past couple of years? It looks like VaM2 is making a lot of progress. I also see a lot of new creators, which is awesome! What should I be checking out?

Cheers all!

"Mom, the celeb from the silver plugins returned!!!" :D Welcome back!

I just started my vam journey this year and i am only qualified to speak for my limited self experience. What are you into? If you like lap dance experiences, i would recommend two creators who are relatively new (one from last year, the other started somee months ago):

The great plugin for fluids arrived this year, SexyFluids! It is a masterpiece:

14mhz just published a great ui resizer and undocker, a dream come true for working within timeline:

I have the impression your last time (regarding your plugins) was around 2022? Then you may have missed the particle and asset legend Farger?

Ghostwalden is on a streak and is pumping out lots of great assets, especially hilarious ones (yes, it is a werebear playing a balalaika):

And if you don't know his Gordon, you are missing something. :D

Skynet seems to be more or less "new", for me it is a legend doing great looks and very useful plugins:

I guess there are too many "new" great creators, i would need hours to do them all justice. Don't know much about other developments and VaM2. They were recent new milestones and an addon kit, but i guess it is still an ongoing dev journey.

Welcome back! Just the other day, I just published a scene using your BJ plugin. Some plugin writers are doing amazing things:

@ispinox is bringing professional grade animations to Vam. The scenes with Ellie are a must-have.

Thank you so much for the links! Wow, that fluid!! hahaha. I admit I tried to come up with a fluid solution but could never get anywhere close to what I'm seeing in the demo vids, amazing!! One thing that hadn't occurred to me is that new GPUs with more VRAM would let creators push fidelity this hard. Some of the assets you linked are super impressive.

Thanks Slimer! I'll check out your scene, thanks for linking it! I'm also curious to check out the BodyLanguage script you linked. I was always on the lookout for anything that could add dynamic animation.

Welcome back ClockwiseSilver. I still use your plugins all the time, so thank you.
"Stopper" did a few ground breaking things last year that I thought were impossible in vam. Clothing plugins and clothing driven morphs. Attaching cua's to the mesh of simmed clothing/skin/hair with "attach to vertex". Plus the ui undocker plugin is really handy when making scenes.

Not to diminish Stopper's work, he is a legend - and i used his ui undocker until recently - but you should check out 14mhz's undock and resize plugin. Working in a big timeline window for example was a gamechanger, and it can do everything else and more.

I love the stuff he is doing with the sims, but damn, a GI solution?! That is first on my list to check out, even if it crushes my computer hahaha

I can see that benefiting a lot of the more complex plugin UIs. I was going to ask a bunch of questions about how it works in practice, but I should probably just try both undockers and see for myself :D

Welcome back, Clockwise! And I was about to suggest you check out Stopper's groundbreaking plugins, but I see Origin69 beat me to it!

There's also the CPU performance patch by turtlebackgoofy that can seriously improve FPS on some systems. That's worth checking out.
Thanks for the link! Have you found it lets you pack more characters into the scene? I finally upgraded my gaming rig with a 9800x3d, but for VaM stuff I've always used the same i9 system I've been rocking for years. I'll need to check this out on both systems and see if it can help with my bad habit of enabling all soft-body sims all the time hahaha
