Animator has great potential! If one could cue-up pose presets in animator, that would be even more fantastic! It should be fairly straight-forward. I already see "stock" fixed poses in animator as an option. In reality, it should always be active, seamlessly integrated into the static pose system. And by should I mean its very possible and almost there!

You can load pose presets via triggers, check out for example: https://hub.virtamate.com/resources/vs1-showcase.5653/

Anyway, what you are really looking for is IdlePoser, because it does not just snap into the new pose, you can make it animate nicely between poses by providing additional in-between poses (control points) which are then used to create nice animation curves. While not directly compatible with VaM's pose presets, you can capture each preset as an IdlePoser state.

The updated built-in Person Animator does blending like IdlePoser, it just doesn't allow the use of pose presets (that I can see). If you look at the stock static poses available at the bottom of the Animator drop-down menu, it blends from the current animation to those static poses without jumping. However, as you mentioned, IdlePoser has more options. Anyway, I'll give a try!
