Question I want to create a Story based Porn Game via VaM, am i allowed to?

I want to create a Story based Porn Game via VaM. I am planning to download backgrounds and characters that other people created on the website, build a scene with them (non animated), make a screenshot and move on to the next picture. I want to use the Program "renpy" to write text under those pictures and the player can make decisions and so on (here would be an exaple of a game i want to create: https://porngameshub.com/freeloading-family ).

Of course i credit every single creator combined with a link to his/her work and will only use the things the author marked as "free for everyone".

But im still not sure if im even allowed to do that. Does someone know?

You need to check the licences of the content you use. Each VAR package has a licence set, creators can choose from a few. In the package manager you can find a short description of what you can/can't do with a package.

You would want to look out for anything labeled with "ND" for non-derivative. That means you can't use it to create other content, screenshots are also content. Same with "NC" for non-commercial. Even if you release for free, if you run a Patreon or something like that and it is somehow related to your project, you would already be operating "commercially". Then there is "SA" for share-alike, which means you have to release under the exact same licence. Without that you could for example release under a more strict licence. This last one is obviously as protection against someone taking your free stuff and re-releasing it as paid, or something like that.

If the licences don't match what you need....talk with the original creators...talking solves many problems. Most creators don't really consider the implications of their licence choice
