Solved How do i create water in vam

Hi there.

As the title says, how do i create water in vam?

I would like to add a big water area to place a boat in it.

There are a lot of island and beach assets with water in it, but all the Palms, Beachhouses and stuff
do take to much resources for that they are just background.
I just would like to see water around the boat and no beach near it.

You can use Farger's Pirate Cove asset. The assets are separated so you can just select the ocean only and you get nothing but rolling waves to the horizon.

Jackaroo's Collision Interactive Water Rigs might be a good option. Also, If you have a scene that is close to what you want, you could remove the unwanted assets.

I tried Jackaroo's Water Rigs, but it didnt work as id should.
I also cant make big enough water with this.

Just tried the Farger's Pirate Cove asset.
When i add an CustomUnityAsset and at some ocean waves, there also shows this black sphere up, with stoneground on it.
How can i make this spere go away?

That's a weird one. I don't know. Maybe you have a ISSphere in your scene occluding the water? Or maybe some light source is doing something strange? Since you got as far as you did in seeing the water, I'm sure you've realized that you need at least one directional light otherwise the water doesn't show up (this stumped me for a few minutes). But, this is what I get with the default scene + the pirate cove CUA 'ocean waves 5a':

Indeed, there was another object, a tonemap in the scene. lol
After removing it, the water shows up properly and the stoneground i just saw before is now under the water, as the ground of it.

I tried that once and it was good but interactive water plugin is the most realistic and adjustable water in vam by a long way. I know it is paid for the full adjustability but for £13 for all his plugins, it is well worth it.

Another plug for PluginIdea's Interactive Water Plugin. If you really want good interactive water customized to your liking, this is the best I've seen in my years using the software. It can be made quite pretty, and all sorts of things interact to cause ripples (one of Farger's waterfall CUAs, for example).

I don't really know if their other plugins on offer are worth paying for, but once you learn how to customize the water one, I'd say it definitely is at least. I was using Jackaroo's water rigs before (or just using whatever CUAs had water built in for pretty non-interactive options) but they're nowhere near as customizable.

Hi, thanks for the info about PluginIdea's Water Plugin.
This looks great yes.
But the Water from Fargers Pirate Cove, did what i was looking for.
Big ocean with ocean waves.
