I accidentally changed the disk partition in the game, and when I changed it back to its original setting, my scenes remained in the middle like this

Didn't know you can do that. Did you restart vam after?
 
Guessing that what you did was to change the Cache folder to another partition and not actually change any partition of your disk with VAM (impossible) or doing partition changes while using VAM (that would be a terrible idea).
Taking it's the cache folder location, doesn't matter what partition or disk you use - I have it on a different disk altogether - trying clearing the cache.
