Hi everyone,
I'm having a frustrating issue with the Embody plugin. As you can see in the attached video, my hands are constantly jumping, jittering, and losing tracking. It makes interacting with anything almost impossible.
My setup:
  • Meta Quest headset
  • PCVR via Virtual Desktop
  • SteamVR
I've already made sure my room lighting is good and wiped the headset cameras, but the tracking is still extremely unstable. Does anyone know if there are specific settings in Virtual Desktop, SteamVR OpenXR runtime, or within the Embody plugin itself that I need to tweak to smooth out the hand tracking?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Seems like you are losing tracking as you suggested. I get this type of behavior when I say set down a controller. If your connection to your PC is strong and it's not wifi/router related, I'd try just using VD directly without steam.
You can just create another .bat file for this and put the following inside in place of the previous contents. Might need to change path to the VD streamer if installed differently. I've always had good success with this and abandoned steam early on as it was jittery. I think it's since improved though.
"C:\Program Files\Virtual Desktop Streamer\VirtualDesktop.Streamer.exe" VaM.exe

I dont think you need steam VR, this probably wont help much but I launch vam with just a link cable. No steam or anything. I click pc link on the headset launch vam and that's it. I never lose tracking. So I would think try to launch it without steam vr.
