VAMEssentials submitted a new resource:

Hairstyles - 50+ hairstyle favorites sorted in rows by black, brown, blonde and other.

With the click of a button you can upgrade your model's hairstyle. Choose from a collection of 50+ of VamEssential's hairstyle favorites sorted in rows by black, brown, blonde and other.

Instructions
1. Switch out the default model with one of your models.
2. Click the hairstyle buttons to find one you like.
3. To save it on your model, go to your Appearance Presets tab, clear out the Preset Name box and type in the name of your model or whatever...

VAMEssentials updated Hairstyles with a new update entry:

Version 2 Updates

Because of the higher system requirements for some hairstyles with 3 mirrors, I changed the scene default loading on the mirror and floor reflection from 4k to 2k resolution for new people opening the scene for the first time so they can see how well their computer handles the 3 mirror reflection with all the hair detail.

This just changes the resolution on the mirror reflection and floor reflection and does not change the resolution on anything else in the scene like the model. This can...

If you try to click on the buttons and they don't click in VAM, you want to zoom in some more.

If you are clicking and getting errors of missing packages, you'll want to scan the hub for missing referenced packages and then restart the scene after they are all downloaded.

If you are in a scene you can click on the star icon to get to the VAM hub:

On the main VAM screen click on the first column on the far left to open the VAM Hub:

Click on the "Scan Hub For Missing Referenced Packages" button in the botom left corner area:

Then in the top right click "Download All":

After you download everything needed, go back to your Scenes list and click the scene again to restart it and it will check again for what you downloaded.

If your Download All is going fast on the downloads and reaches one and goes very slow or seems stuck downloading one of them, sometimes the Scan Hub for Missing Referenced Packages will freeze. It has done that for me and it doesn't download everything. I then restart VAM and run it again and it goes faster and unfreezes it and finishes downloading everything.

When it finishes downloading everything you should see a blue button below it saying "In Library" if you search for it again:

Version 3 Updates

Some of the hairstyles in the collection are NC and to not confuse people, I have updated the license on the var to CC-BY-NC.

If you use any hairstyle in your project, you will want to check the licensing as some are CC BY and some are CC-BY-NC, etc. You can view licensing terms here:

Version 4 Updates

I have removed some assets from the scene file that are not hub hosted. This should assure that future downloads don't have any issues and if someone tries to use the hairstyle in their own project, it will reduce them having issues doing so as well.

scanned hub for missing packages and downloaded all, restarted vam and scene but still not showing hair styles, just keep getting error message Could not add subscene atom Hairstyles/Hair - Other 9 followed by Could not find subscene atom Hair - Black 1 after it should have been created and all other hair sytles.

Try this if you can, clear the error log, then restart the scene by opening your scene browser and clicking on it again to relaunch it without restarting vam, so it's empty on restart on the error log. Then click the hair buttons again to have it generate the error so you know specifically which error line is which for each button. Then copy/paste the error log lines here so can see the full message.

One more thing you can try is making sure all your packages are updated. I updated this scene file so you want to be sure you're loading the latest version of it.

You can do this by clicking on the button "Scan Hub For Packages With Updates", click Download All in the top right, and then restart the scene.

Are you getting that error on any other scenes or any other scenes I uploaded?

Try this to see if it fixes it. Close VAM.

Go to your VAM\AddonPackages folder and search:
"vamessentials.hairstyles"
Delete all versions you have of it.

Go to VAM\Cache folder and in the top right search in quotes:
"vamessentials.hairstyles"
Then delete all cache backup history for the scene as well.


Then redownload the scene file manually here by clicking download in the top right, then go to your downloads folder and move it to your AddOnPackages folder...
