Usage,

Note,

- You will need the Dollars MoCap main program to use this plugin
- After downloading the Dollars MoCap main program, you need to register to try it
- In the trial version, Virt-a-Mate streaming will pause for 10 seconds every 20 seconds, you can purchase a lifetime license to remove this limitation
- The BVH files recorded...

Why keep deleting the old versions when the Discussion section had useful posts for virtamate users?

I also have an issue. THE ISSUE is this: Each time I connect the VAM plugin after calibrating and enabling VAM streaming in the .exe, the person atom jumps 10 ft up in the VAM game. It disconnects from the root control. The mocap works but why is my person atom jumping up and changing position?

EDIT: seems like version 4 of the VAM plugin is the culprit. I can run the mocap through version 3 no problem.

I see version 4 is much better optimized and seems like it will be a lot of fun to work with.

Would it be possible to record a video and forward it to hi@sunnyview.tech? This would greatly assist in accurately identifying the issue. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your prompt response.

Sorry for the concern. I may have had a conflicting plugin instance, but I am unsure which. I tested the new VAM plugin and the Dollars Mocap executable on all my scenes and it seems to work fine now. Things seem to be in working order now.

I am having latency issues with the motion capture using your product. Would it help if dollars mocap software is running on top of VAM? I am unable to it record my movements while dollars mocap is on top of VAM. Maybe the problem is I cannot launch VAM in windowed mode... do you have suggestions on how to do that? MacGruber's guide on VAM command line parameters did not help me.

Ok, I figured out how to work through MacGruber's guide. Windowed mode launches fine, however whenever I have DollarsMocap as the top window, VAM is still not displaying the motion capture. Any suggestions? I am using Windows 10.

Hi, please check if VAM is consuming all the system resources. If it is, consider lowering the settings in VAM.
If there are still plenty of resources available, please consider recording a video and sending it to hi@sunnyview.tech. Thank you.

Hello! You state in the post "The BVH files recorded using the Dollars MoCap main program are not compatible with Virt-a-Mate."
As a new user, I would like to know; can I extract mocap data from a video, and import that mocap into VAM (sorry about the confusion, I just wanted to make sure).

Hi, yes, you can stream the data into VAM in real-time, and record the motion with the timeline plugin

Thanks, I'm actually looking for a solution for creating mocap files. Since they are easy to load.
Would you have any tips on how to do that?

You can find some tutorials on Timeline plugin.

Please note if you also want to record finger animation, you will need to record the following morphs,

Left Thumb Bend
Left Index Finger Bend
Left Mid Finger Bend
Left Ring Finger Bend
Left Pinky Finger Bend
Left Fingers In-Out
Right Thumb Bend
Right Index Finger Bend
Right Mid Finger Bend
Right Ring Finger Bend
Right Pinky Finger Bend
Right Fingers In-Out

If you want to record facial animation, you will need the morphs in the json file, please check it around 3:56 in this video for details,

Posting here because theres no doubt a large amount of VAM players using the quest 3+VD (Virtual desktop for quest, PC version serves a different purpose and is irrelevant to this issue) combo to play, and I have even less of a doubt that this will be the last mention of this issue here on the vam hub.

Seems like VIVA currently detects the spoofed vive trackers (and maybe the spoofed index controllers aswell) from the virtual desktop application on quest completely opposite to the direction theyre supposed to be facing. looks like it tracks movement perfectly fine its just backwards/inside out (not sure which but it looks like backwards). For example, after calibration the character is facing the wrong way and all joints move the opposite from how theyre supposed to. Also putting my arms down raises the character to its tip toes while simultaneously crimping the neck like the head is hitting a ceiling.

Can you please add a timer function so that I can hit record and get into position before recording?

Hi, please check this out, https://docs.dollarsmocap.com/viva-faq#mannequin-facing-the-wrong-direction

This is usually due to an incorrect tracker placement or improper calibration. If you can provide a video that includes the entire calibration process and send it to hi@sunnyview.tech, it will help us identify the issue more effectively. Thank you!

Hi, thank you for the advice. We will release a new version this week that enhances video playback controls. In the meantime, you can also check out our video on using OBS to optimize the video motion capture experience.

thanks for the response, might I also add one request that I found while learning how to use this software?
Add an option to lock the feet to ground level. I mean, really make them not move at all.
I know that there is capture options that keep you on the ground, but the feet tend to just kinda float.
Looking forward to the next release!

For me if a model is not the default model scale, many root nodes like shoulders, head and arms are misaligned and can't be fixed because they always get reset by the plugin. It looks very weird, you see the nodes floating above the model, if you move them to correct it, they reset, so maybe let us move the manually to correct it or make it find it automatically. The only work around right now i found is disabling certain joints like arms, elbows, shoulders...

Thank you for your advice, we will add it to our backlog.

Thank you. If you could let us know which model can reproduce the issue you mentioned, it would help us resolve the problem.
